I'd love to, but there is no way in hect that I'd bring Maureen. Dr. J? PGiddy? Should we go and just try to get tickets after kickoff? Worst comes to worst we could tailgate with RD (notice I am inviting myslef over :D) and provide "safety in numbers"...
Let me know.

Are you going to the game EA?
Nope. I'll be in front of a 50" HD screen. I get a better view of the game that way. The only thing I miss about not going to the game is the tailgating and atmosphere. I'll have the wife throw things at me and scream and yell during the game to simulate attendance........:) The refreshments and food are, also, alot cheaper here. Just put the DVD on pause and enjoy the break whenever I want. The only thing that I have to be careful of is throwing things at the TV.

On a serious note, it would be nice to meet you one day. I don't think we've had a member of the board who is a fan of another team show up and hang out with us. It'll be cool. I know we ran into some very cool Iggle fans when I came to the game up that last year. We had a great time and they gave us some good info about our vehicles before going into the stadium. Yeah, we'd jump on your case but it would be all in good fun. You have been a great member and we enjoy it.

Join the club. I couldn't go last week, and that was probably my last chance to get to one this season. *Sigh* there's always next year.

Thanks but remember I'm a football fan first. Discussing football in general is what I love to do. I can't diss someone for cheering their favorite team. Thats what its all about and I wouldn't want it any other way. As for meeting some day.......I'd love it and I can take the ribbing too. Its all part of the game and I do love the game and all the trappings.
As far as PhillyPhil goes...........I have e-mailed him on several occasions thru the Eagles board with no response. As a matter of fact, he hasn't been active on the board for a very long time. How do I know; take my word for it, I know...:) Hope nothing happened to him! I'll let you know if anything changes.
This is the type of board they all should be. It's a friendly atmosphere and that usually allows for intelligent discussions without that oh so common ranting and raving. There is a comfort level here that you don't find very often in the world of fandom. Thanks again for your kind words. They are most appreciated!!

VERY SURE AND VERY GREEN!! Been that way since 1959 and its way too late to change. Its just that I have a different perspective regarding football and its fans. Its the way it is and you're NOT gonna change it so you live with it. Thats my philosophy and I'm stickin' to it.....:)

I repeatedly tip my cap to you and while I can not wish the Eagles "good luck", I can say it to you... Good luck! You're a huge credit to this site and I wish we had more fans like you here! I love getting an informed opinion from fans of other teams and I have never cared for trash talking... Maybe I am getting old. :D

Sorry to disappoint but the Linc does not have a jail. They have an underground rail car that stops at the city jail. As a matter of fact, I think the conductor is a judge too. So, you see, there is no need for one in the Linc. Makes perfect sense to me...........:)

But the Vet had a jail, right?
I remember a few years back, Troy Vincent (when we all hated his arse) was giving the Fox pregame crew a tour of the Vet. He said it had its own prison.

Truth be told, most Eagle fans I know are embarrassed by the antics that go on in Philly. If the team would crack down a little more on the minority, it would be a better place for even the home fans to enjoy a game. I think the organization privately endorses the dangerous behavior of the moniority of drunken fans.

Hey EagleAye I was just in the "Gibbs: Team Structure" thread and I was reading what you were saying. While not totally agreeing with you, I so appreciated the delivery, then I came in here and was thinking what a great poster you've been when I saw the love fest...so let me just add my thanks for your football knowledge and your respect for our team.
The Eagles are doing great this season and we respect the fact that they will be hard to beat on Sunday. Good Luck to you and yours, and may the best team win!....no...wait....scratch that....here's hoping the power doesn't go out..... :D

Gotcha! Thanks for the comment regarding the Eagles but 4-4 is not my idea of doing great. We had higher hopes than what has materialzed. However, in the eyes of the media they are a surprise. They're destined, according to the media, to be the bottom dwellers of the East but, hey, the season's only half over. There's still hope for their predictions.:)
Lets hope for a good close game with no major injuries.

We maybe it should be a legal library with code of ethics laws clearly posted.
Yes the few do tend to overdo it. Maybe after we get that ring they'll calm down a bit. A lot of that stuff you see comes form a sense of inferiority and frustration. Some folks just don't know how to handle that stuff. They should remember its a game that is meant for entertainment not a life experience.

no.. i lived in philly for 4 years.. around the time when the phillies were great.. they were brutal on them..they were brutal on the eagles even when they went to the superbowl under vermeil.. they were brutal towards the sixers inthe midst of their championship runs..
maybe only the flyers have been treated a bit better.
but the philly sports fans are in a class by themselves even ripping their own teams... just plain brutal

That's a HUGE part of it EA, IMO...but even moreso because the fanbase that are Eagles supporters are also Sixers, Flyers, and Phillies supporters. (I am also a Flyers die-hard (plus I used to work for them...only the Redskins hold a bigger place in my heart.)
My point is that all those Philly teams COMBINED haven't brought ANY parade or real pride to Philly since 1983! 23 years is a long time with absolutely NOTHING to show except some "always a bridesmaid, never a bride" years for the Phils, Flyers, Sixers, and most recently the Eagles. I don't think it would be so bad if there was SOME sort of a parade or two in Philly within the last 15 years or so, but it's been zip, zero, zilch, nada.
That's really, really bad.
It's why I'm so grateful for the Redskins (Thank you again, God!) - I took them on as my football team at the ripe old age of seven - the first professional football game I ever saw was the Redskins beat the Dolphins in the Super Bowl in 1983. I still remember the parade in 1992 like it was yesterday.
Those memories will ALWAYS keep me from being bitter, cynical, and idiotic about my Redskins, IMHO.
You are a good, intelligent fan, EagleAye.
Sure hope the Flyers win one for us soon;)

I would love to go, but the last time I went to the Linc, I got my foam finger ripped in half and thrown on the field. Oh yeah, and some drunk bastard burned a hole in my Ramsey jersey with his ciggerette. I hate Eagles fans and my buddy and I were lucky to make it out of there alive.

I'm a Flyers fan too. Boy are they stinkin' it up this year. Guess the FO turnover is affecting them.
Ya see, I have an advantage over alot of the Eagles fans. I was around for the last Eagles championship in 1960. Guess thats why I'm mellow......:)
