David Boston has been in and out of practice since training camp opened in late July, so it comes as no surprise to read a Union Tribune report that he missed Wednesday's workout with a heel injury. This is his third injury of the preseason.
Given his recent injury history, they may be right. Boston's weight reportedly is up to 257 pounds...and growing. Man, did we dodge a bullet with passing on him and going after Coles. On that note, maybe we can add a few more pounds to him and turn him into a pass rush DE?? :)

The deal completed three weeks of negotiations between the clubs. The Redskins initially sought Grady Jackson or Kenny Smith in an exchange for one of two reserve running backs, Kenny Watson or Ladell Betts, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. The Saints told the Redskins that Jackson and Smith were off limits and countered by asking for cornerback Fred Smoot, the Redskins' 2001 second-round pick.Glad we didn't panic and offer Smoot up, especially with what is going on with Champ. The Redskins continued to try to acquire one more defensive tackle. As of early last night, the Denver Broncos apparently had not ruled out making another attempt to trade Lional Dalton. Now that blirb is from the Washington Post.
Hmmmm... I thought the Broncos had another team all lined up? Guess not, eh??
