David Boston has been in and out of practice since training camp opened in late July, so it comes as no surprise to read a Union Tribune report that he missed Wednesday's workout with a heel injury. This is his third injury of the preseason.

Given his recent injury history, they may be right. Boston's weight reportedly is up to 257 pounds...and growing. Man, did we dodge a bullet with passing on him and going after Coles. On that note, maybe we can add a few more pounds to him and turn him into a pass rush DE?? :)

The deal completed three weeks of negotiations between the clubs. The Redskins initially sought Grady Jackson or Kenny Smith in an exchange for one of two reserve running backs, Kenny Watson or Ladell Betts, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. The Saints told the Redskins that Jackson and Smith were off limits and countered by asking for cornerback Fred Smoot, the Redskins' 2001 second-round pick.Glad we didn't panic and offer Smoot up, especially with what is going on with Champ. The Redskins continued to try to acquire one more defensive tackle. As of early last night, the Denver Broncos apparently had not ruled out making another attempt to trade Lional Dalton. Now that blirb is from the Washington Post.

Hmmmm... I thought the Broncos had another team all lined up? Guess not, eh??

The Broncos must think we are some soft punks that will bend over for anything.

Yeah, they tried to get some leverage on us. Punks.

I wonder if Ol' Dalton will be released when 1st cuts are made? But then he could negotiate between us & J'ville. And the highest bidder probably wouldnt be us.
And as far as Boston goes the only place i had him was on Madden 2003.He didnt get hurt there.I dont know if its up to Marty or Butler, but if its up to Marty he wont be around long.

Interesting about Boston.... Nothing worse than to get overweight.

I like Rat's idea of fattening him up to play DE. :D

Front office does deserve some credi there. There were no knee jerk reactions or paniced moves after Noble went down.

good point rat, i just got done reading that article and was gonna post something along the same lines but you beat me too it. Again just when i think the FO is messin up left and right they redeam themselves in such a way that actually impresses me. Bravo FO for seeing through the BS with Dalton and realizing that Boston is great when he is on the field.....(key word in this phrase..WHEN) but can not stay on the field. maybe now the broncos will play nicely and everything will work out for us. if not he will be gone probably by tuesday and then we have to try to sign him over Jax and Zona. If he really wants to play he would realize that the skins give him if not the best, one of the best chances to start.
