View Full Version : On the road after their bye

That's been three games this year for the Skins. NY, Indy and now Philly have each come off a bye to host the game. Certainly this is not a reason why we have 6 losses but, in basic fairness, I don't understand how the league let this happen. If we hosted one or two of those games it would be different. All were on the road and that's just wrong.

Their should be a man law about scheduling a team to play 3 away games after the home teams bye week.

I said this the day the schedule was released. It sucks! Division games should NEVER come after a bye week and all teams should play the same number (one). The four teams that have their bye should play each other the following week. That would solve a lot of the unbalanced nature of the schedule.
But I agree it isn't why we are out of the playoff chance. We can thank home losses to Minny and Tenn for that one... We should be 5-4 and we aren't.

I agree...At first glance this schedule looked good, but now in reality I see it as pattenly unfair. There are no reasopns with 4 teams in a division we should have to play the Eagles after a bye or the Giants, or for that matter the Cowboys play us. You can do a bye for the whole division followed with interdivision games. There are eight divisions and an even amount of teams. Do a bye for each division from weeks 3 through week 11. That would be the airest way to do it.

Probably in the same way it gave the Giants 9 home games last year...

yes, that was bad.. but it does not excuse losing to minny and tennessee at home. we would still be in the thick of things at 5-4 if we won those...
inexcusable, but cannot blame the schedule makers for this turkey of a season

Amen to that. It is a bogus idea. There used to be something fair about the fact that in the NFL everybody played one game every week and every team was in the same situation. They should get back to that, and get the Super Bowl back into January.

You're right, Dave. This wasn't fair in the least. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, we hosted Tennessee coming off of theit bye week. So. including the Minn opener, 5 of our 9 opponents so far have had 2 weeks to prepare for us. Not an easy task, but stil not an excuse.

If we played up to our potential, it would not matter who was scheduled. I don't like the bye weeks but lets not whine about it. Focus on getting ready, getting better, next years draft, or anything else but not the schedule. :banghead:

I wouldn't mind a few more bye weeks and less preseason. I'm sick of this war of attrition crap. I'd much rather see roster continuity and better quality of play.

I thought there was a fifth. I thought the Titans were off a Bye too when we played them. I'll have to check.

Either that or have the entire league take the same bye week. No football for a week!!

Can't have that. Just need better scheduling. No team should have to play 5 teams off their bye. I don't want to whine but, it does hardly seem fair that the majority of our opponents are well rested when they play us.

I started a thread about this last week....
I don't know what it is (maybe I am biased) but I feel like we get a tough schedule no matter what our previous record is....
and the Giants get all of their tough games at home....
I do agree this isn't the reason we are out of the playoff hunt but it certainly doesn't help!
