amazing how many of us are saying exactly the same thing in post after post, article after article..
are we all wrong ? i do not think so. but whether it penetrates redskin central is another matter.
let's see if the smoke is black or white this week.. my guess is that gibbs digs his heels in for at least 1 more week.

I think he will stick with Brunell to be honest. Going on the road to one of your hated non-nfc east rivals is not quite the start that Gibbs may not have in mind for Campbell.

we got to get out of this mentality that we got to wait till we play arizona or the raiders before we can let campbell play....by the way great article dustin...same ole same ole...

He's going to have to do it eventually.

Yes, he will I have no doubts. I am just looking at it from Gibbs' point of view. Gibbs may not deem it the right time.

I really think starting on the road is LESS pressure then starting at home. No chance of boo birds or pressure of dissapointing hiome fans. Tampa is the least talented team we face on the rest of the schedule. We should start Campbell in Tampa.

I have to agree. Since the NFL was not nice enough to schedule St. Mary's School of the Blind this week as our opponent, I guess in TB will have to do fior JC's first start.

agreed.. you expect the road fans to boo.. no big deal. start him.. enough excuses, this is getting ridiculous

Actually, I think Gibbs will stick w/ Brunell at least until the skins are mathematically out (not that I agree). I will probably be Brunell's last game in the NFL (at least as a starter).
As far as pressure on JC, if you want to pound the ball 25-30 times and throw just 15-20 passes in a rookie start, what's the harm in having him start on the road? I agree it's probably LESS pressure than at home. Heck, tell him he starts THE REST OF THE YEAR so he doesn't have the "hook" syndrome.

Arch is a part of this years defensive trouble but not all of it. I agree we need to use him to his strengths. The problem is how much money we payed him to apperantly be a role player, way to much. Agree not much choice at this point.

yea i cant wait to see what happens. i'm not expecting big things, just something positive to build off of. i'm also wondering about mccintosh. wuts going on with that? i think he can be the spark for the defense that campbell can be for the offense

as others have pointed out most of his cap money is beyond 2009, the first three years are not that bad. Arch can be a role player for that kind of money for the nexxt two seasons at least.

the thing with arch...vincent is def better in pass coverage but arch is way and i mean way better than he is in run support..arch may suck in coverage but it was fun to see him flying at the runner adn laying some wood on him..during the philly game vincent was obviously lacking in run support..all im saying is yea puttin in vincent helps us in coverage (which may be more important) but we are def missing out on arch's ability to make open field tackles westbrook wouldnt of been as successful running if he arch was in..so all in all i agree we got to do somethign with arch like maybe always have him keyed in on the rb and following him into the flat or osmethign who knows not my decision but it needs to be done

Maybe play a 4-2-5 with Arch playing a bit farther back than the linebackers and taking Holdman/Washington off the field?

Dutin, once again, good job and very TIMELY post! As we all know by now, JC is the man, and it is highly likely the other changes will filter in as well. It won't be about feeling good about a player cause how we trust, but what the results will be from here on out.

I disagree with the shawn springs idea simply because if shawn goes to safety who is going to play cornerback? Safeties are a lot easier to attain then shutdown corners and as far as I can tell there is no way rogers is ready to take the duties of the #1 cornerback on this team.

Good read, Dustin.
You've been reading my posts. :D
8.) Allow audibles. Not allowing audibles in today’s NFL is arrogant and costly. Today’s defenses are changing with every motion and every down and distance. What is the point of all the pre-snap movement if we are not trying to determine what they are running? And once we determine it why do we not take advantage of it by allowing the QB to audible? Simply puzzling and arrogant and it is leading to the lack of offensive ability, especially in the second half. We need to adjust to the defense and play to our strengths.
Also, I agree with your stance on Arch. As bad as Arch has been in coverage and figuring out the defense he's one of the few players that hasn't forgotten how to tackle. Eventually they'll figure out a way to use him.

Spot on article Dustin, I would love to see Arch get that time at WLB maybe even the Mike because he will hit. Heck, I'm even ready to see Molinaro or somebody step in for Dockery. Fortunately, I heard the news on JC before heading out to coach the little fellas for our all star game. I don't expect anything great from JC just get snaps and get some game experience for next year. If we win some, thats gravy because the guy is a rook and we are not any good on D, ST, and really can't run the fb consistently anymore. If there is one other thing I would love to see us do, its defer every toss we win. We never score in the first quarter and I would rather take my chances with more possessions in the 2nd half. It may take the rest of this year to right the ship, but we must remain patient.
