...not ours, silly!
Has there ever been a team that played three others coming off their byes? Probably a fluke, but at least I'm not alone in calling attention to it:

"Last week, Gibbs lamented that he didn't know who the Redskins upset at the league's office for their difficult schedule. Gibbs's latest gripe is that the Redskins have played three teams coming out of a bye week, all on the road and all to disastrous results. The New York Giants crushed the Redskins, 19-3, on Oct. 8. Two weeks later, Indianapolis destroyed the Redskins, 36-22, and two days ago the Eagles beat the Redskins. . . ."

I know. I was in the process of adding it when you posted that. You're fast.

San Diego, last season, played 3 teams coming off a bye and they had to travel to the East Coast four seperate times. They didn't make the playoffs but managed a 9-7 record. They also didn't suffer as many key injuries, nor were they transitioning like we are.

is it just me, or did the media and fans make alot out of this....rightfully so, but why hasn't our media and stuff made a big grip about this!!!
seems as though its ok to happen to the redskins, but not to any other team

There were some stories about it but San Diego was competitive in every game until the last couple. Also, we don't get any slack from the media, they love to pile on us. Look at a team like Cincinnati, they are one game better than us with about the same strength of schedule but I don't see the media calling them out for being a flop.

And it doesn't in the two games we should have won, Minnesota and Tennessee. Had we won those games, we would be 5-4 and still very much in the thick of things. But, I doubt we would have gone far and the changes would not have been made, so next year would have been possibly another transitional season. Everything happens for a reason and hopefully this will all work out eventually.

Exactly. I agree, there is no excuse. If you are good enough, you should be able to beat any team no matter if they are coming off a bye week or not.

Exactly. We have lost in Philly, Dallas, and NY the majority of the times we have played there, bye week or not. That's normal in division rivalries. If we had taken care of business against two very mediocre teams at home (one is 3-5 and the other 1-7 if you take away their wins against us), we would be in position to make some noise.

No it isn't. Nobody is claiming (unless the article does) that we are 3-6 b/c we played three teams coming off a bye. But fair is fair and the NFL should not allow such unbalanced schedules. There are plenty of easy solutions for this and it is good that we address it.
Now strength of schedule doesn't bother me one bit b/c to be the best you have to beat the best.... But lets play the best on equal terms.
We have not right to point to it as a reason b/c we lost home games to Minny and Tenny, but San Diego missed the playoffs b/c of the schedule makers (2005) and it isn't right. All teams should have to play ONE team coming off a bye. No more. No less.

Tennessee, despite their record, is a good football team in the games/highlights I have seen. If the stay the course with Fisher I think they'll be back to contending in a year or two once VY has some experience. Now that doesn't mean we should have lost to them, but I just think they are better than their record. The have taken a couple division leaders to task this season and they are slowly starting to show some life.
