Teams trademark protection at risk... (http://money.cnn.com/2003/08/22/commentary/column_sportsbiz/sportsbiz/) A weekly column by Chris Isidore, CNN/Money Senior Writer

That's because there's a decent chance that the Redskins' name could soon go the way of leather football helmets and 200-pound linemen.

In the midst of pre-season this is still going on ??????:banghead:http://money.cnn.com/2003/08/22/commentary/column_sportsbiz/sportsbiz/wildhogs_small.gif

i found this part interesting:He points to a 2002 survey by Sports Illistrated that found that even Native Americans living on Reservations favored keeping names like Redskins, Indians and Braves by a slightly better than two-to-one margin, while 83 percent of Native Americans overall believed the names should be kept.
In all honesty though, i dont want another thread of hate and malcontent to go on in this forum. we already had this debate and all it did was seperate us as fans. we are only two weeks away from the real games so let us unite for the season and leave this alone until the offseason. Just my Opinion though.

I agree with you. Let's the courts decide this and what will be - will be. AT this point I would just rather focus on the up coming season.

There's no denying that the name is a racist term, but the people have very tradgically been almost whiped out, and now all the pc junkies wake up.
