D. Green ran back that punt against the bears to help us beat da bears in soldier field in the playoffs?
For whatever reason I was day dreaming about that today and how it was such an amazing play and how I will miss Green not being on the field when we start playing for real again. Ever since I was little he's been on the field making plays and helping us win games. I will never forget it I was watching the game with my abuelita (grandmom for you non-latinos) and we were down and the bears seemed to own us for the first part of the game and it was cold at soldier field and it was sweetness' last game and we had somehow stopped the bears to pin them back in their own end and then they punted and then darrell ran to his right and saw an opening and then he gracefully leaped over what seemed like four people and in the process torn his ribcage up, ran it in gripping his side and turning the tide of the game. And it is one of the most amazing plays I've ever seen in pro-sports.

I remember I was sitting in the living room of my parents house watching the game with my father. I remember being happy and worried at the same time when DG held his side running the last 25 or 30 yards....

SkaggsRules.........thanks for making me feel older than I already do! LOL

Cloud nine. That was a fun and fairly unexpected SB run at 11-5. DG's my fav of all time and that return was beyond special. He also batted the would be tieing TD from Darren Nelson of Minn the following week to send us to SBXXII. Legendary stuff boys & girls.

I thought that PR was from the '86 playoff win(Jan '87) not the '87(Jan '88) so the next week they went on to lose to the Giants. Am I remembering it wrong?

I believe that was the year we won the Superbowl in 87-88 and we came back to play the Vikings in the NFC Championship

I was at my parent's house in Illinois (where I lived at the time) in the living room. My dad is a Bears fan.........He didn't say much to me after that play.....But we're much better now.

nyjunc, it was 1/10/88 when Darrel Green made that punt return for a TD in the Bears playoff game in Chicago.

The Vikings beat the 49er's(who had Home Field advantage), so because of that, the NFC Championship game was played at RFK because we had a better record then the Vikings.

I watched that game from my home with a bunch of friends and when we found out the Vikings had won there game, I knew that I was going to the NFC Championship game on my birthday (1/17/88).

That day was the best birthday of my whole life(I turned 28).

Well, except for when I had two woman at the same time on my 18th birthday. :D

My pops and I watched that game together in the living room, sort of a family tradition....Anyway, I remember the name of the bears tight end that DG hurdled....Cap Boso. I though DG was superman after that play....Even better, was the batted ball at the goal line vs. the Vikes that sent us to the superbowl....I remember that Kelvin Bryant #24 had a hell of a game that day in the NFC champ game. He cought a deep ball that set up the winning TD...If I remember correctly.
