Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
http://www.nationalyouthbaseball.com/news/general/index.html?article_id=73
Here is the article, this is his first year with the team but I am floored at the level of training they are getting out here in the middle of Indiana. They have been doing a "five tools program" (five days a week) where all of their coaches either played or currently play in the minors or majors, since august and will be doing so until march. the training facilities and staff(one of his trainers plays for the iron birds) are amazing but that is for another post at another time.

The two highlighted players in this article who were the stars of that particular game are two of my sons instructors in the offseason, how cool is that?
SARASOTA, Fla. - Catcher Matt Pulley lifted a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth to give Norfolk a 7-6 victory over Indianapolis Saturday afternoon at Twin Lakes Park.
Pulley's game-winning RBI followed base knocks by 1B Brandon Sing, 3B Ryan Finan and PH Luis Lopez. Sing finished the contest 3-for-4 with a double, homer, two runs and four RBI.
The Tribe's offensive highlight came in the seventh when DH Chris Truby belted a three-run dinger to left. Indians CF Nyjer Morgan followed his 4-for-4 performance in the Spring Training opener with a 2-for-4 effort.
The teams combined for 24 hits in the affair with Norfolk collecting 13 and Indianapolis 11.
Tides RHP Cory Morris (1.0 IP, 1 SO) breezed through the ninth for the win, while Indians RHP Matt Peterson (1.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 SO) was pinned with the loss.

Here is an update on my sons season.
Well, my son was having a terrific year to say the least but then he broke his wrist in two places to end his season about a month ago. He was playing first base and a kid bunted the ball towards 3rd. 3rd baseman fields throws a little wide towards the home plate side. my son stretches for the ball and the baserunner runs right into his extended arm breaking his wrist in two places.
He was pretty tough about the whole thing until it started to sink in that he was probably done for the season. He had worked so hard during the off-season and it really seemed to pay off. he was leading his team and state in HR's and AVG. at .750 about midway thru the season before his injury.
Any way he has kinda taken advantage of the situation and started working on becoming a switch hitter so I am proud of him for making something positive out of all of this. His team will be on TV next week for anyone who is interested. they will be on mlb.tv at the memphis national tournament for 13 and under. I dont know all the details yet but the team is pretty exciting to watch. He wont be there but we will be watching for sure.

I'm always reminded of South Park when I hear about kids' baseball...
