After 5 years of coaching at KLM Boys and Girls Club, I'll be announcing at the banquet this Saturday, I will no longer be coaching. Although it's tough to do this, it's a decision that's best for my family. Next year i'll miss the kids, and have created some great relationships with many many people. I've decided to spend more time with my family, travel more and focus more on my music. When you coach, you just don't start in August it's a year round thing. Part of the decision as well is that the politics that clubs go through are not my bag. It's hard to bring your kid up in a club, when the main focus should be building strong young people, while playing football, basketball, baseball or cheeleading. I don't see that mission being carried out. It's hard, but to be stressed out over coaching kids...not high school, but kids is something i wish not to do anymore. As well I'm not particularly happy with the direction this club is going. But please note, it's not everyone...many coaches can coach and parents are committed. It's just that the direction of of the club hasn't meet my expectations as a parent, nor a coach.

I do understand that their are others on this site that are affiliated with KLM. I will tell you to find out for yourself. Don't allow what I feel to influence your children's growth in youth sports at KLM, but as the Bilbe teaches.."watch and pray". And at this certain time I am willing to wipe the dust from my feet and move on as Jesus taught his disciples to do, when a town doesn't take heed to what was trying to be taught.

Although I won't be coaching and Isaiah asked to take a one year break, Isaiah (6th grade) wants to focus on track next year. He wants to build his speed hoping to increase it by the time he goes to the eigth grade. He wants to return back to football in the eight grade to get ready for high school.

do what you feel is right in your heart to do.. most people will understand
and will love you for that.. the ones that don't, will simply have to deal with your decision..
good luck and God bless...

Hey, you need to do what you feel is best. I never really understood what coaches went through until we started the Rugby team. I had to quit as Team Administrator last month because it was causing problems between Mike and me. It was too much for both of us to come home after a game and having been chewed out by parents...and then try to decompress...as well as, try to care for our sons...who actually played that day! So something had to give, so I stepped down, very heart breaking for me, since I helped to create a fantastic team but you do what you have to do to stay sane!

Keep to your standards, not to the standards of this World, some of us do get that...tell your son that Track is a great, great sport and that I wish him all of the blessings in that endeavor!
