The Washington Redskins finally played with the discipline and purpose that gives hope for the regular season, helped out by an astoundingly poor performance by the Baltimore Ravens in Kyle Boller's first start.

I guess the Redskins didn't have anything to do with the Ravens looking horrible? We can't catch a break from the media.

Oh well, screw'em!

Well i'll take astoundingly bad performances by all the teams we play this year as long as we get in the playoffs. Freakin media losers.

pretty sad when the local media doesnt even give us props. then again, they do have to sell to the enemy in this particular instance.

That quote came from our own local newspaper? What's up with the Post?

Guys, to be fair, I don't think the guy that wrote that article is from the Wash. Post. I think he writes for the AP wire. I saw the same article this morning from ESPN and Baltimore Sun as well.

Still suck though...

Our defensive tackles played fairly well. Eight tackles and three sacks form the inside. How about now, we get off them and put the microscope on the defensive ends! They only had two tackles between them.

I was upset tha NFL Live didn't show highlights from our game, but showed Detriot/Browns and Bengals/Texans. They only showed a still shot of the score w/ stats and the only comment was how Boller will win the Ravens QB controversy.

Then on ESPN News this morning they showed the flee-flicker and say how all other teams except the Skins don't want to show their tricks in the pre-sesason. They said how it was SS's offense and he can't hold back. Think they said something about running up the score too.

I still think special teams coverage and tackling units were sub par. They gotta lucky fumble on a dropped punt, but besides that i still think we are giving up to many yards on KRs and PRs

In the "Offical NFL Coach's Guild" it states that no team should put meaning into preseason games excect to evaluate rookies and new players; EXEPCT for game 3, where all coachs are expected to put in more a true game plan in the first half.....Last year SS didn't follow that rule and was heavily criticized for it. This year he follows it to a T and he's criticized.....give me a break.....

It baffles me how the media hates on the Redskins all the time. Why? I would just like to have an answer from these so called "unbiased" journalists.

I probably know the answer already.....Snyder......Spurrier.....but thats taking the easy way out.

It's the easy way, but it's also the truth.

But these guys are suppose to be professionals. You don't hear Aikman spouting out garbage about the Redskins when we are playing Dallas.

There should be some line of professionalism in their jobs....even if they have a beef with a owner or coach...

Everyone's supposed to be professional. The New York Times isn't supposed to let its reporters make up stories. The Preisdent isn't supposed to invite interns into the Oval Office for Happy Hour. Catholic priests aren't supposed to molest anyone. These things happen. People say the media has a liberal bias, why can't it have an anti-Redskins bias, too?

It doesn't matter if we get props from the media, the media doesn't help you win ball games. No props is actually better for the Skins.

I'll agree to the extent, it was not a true test for the D & 3 points against.

But it was a spectacular test on the O, 17 points at the half vs. a premier Defense. (all the starters)

I went to a Ravens board and they're all crying how bad they played and not giving the Skins credit for the win. Yes they had a rookie QB playing but our 1st stringers on defense did exactly what they were supposed to do.

Once again the so called "sports guru's" demonstrate their inane idiocy and lack of professionalism - as JoeDaSchmnoe so properly stated.
Oh how I long for the days of Grantland Rice (http://lamb.archives.nd.edu/rockne/rice.html) !

(P.S. Joe - here is someone who you can check out as a guide for your career)
