Again I'm predicting the the positioning and standing by it! I added some comments in case anyone asks "what the hell is this guy thinking"
Round 1
1. Arizona Cardinals- Eli Manning, QB Mississippi St.
Cards are weak at pretty much every position excluding perhaps o-line. Manning is the best QB in the draft and the ideal place to start rebuilding.
2. Detroit Lions- Steven Jackson, RB Oregon State.
At the end of the year everyone will be talking about the Beavers' number 34 who's 230 lbs and can can fly. With this pick Marriucci has his big 3 in place
3. Houston Texans- Shaun Andrews, OT Arkansas. This may end up being a reach but it's a position that the Texans can't afford to ignore anymore.
4. Cincinnati Bengals- Roy Williams, WR Texas.
Even the guy that puts the D in defense knows that he can't pass up on this much talent.
5. Dallas Cowboys- Ben Roethlisberger, QB Miami (OH)
Parcells and Jerry Jones have seen enough of Carter and Hutchinson to take a chance on this small school superstar.
6. Minnesota Vikings- Marlin Jackson, CB Michigan.
The Vikes take another big step towards shoring up their sad defense, provided they can get that elusive envelope up to that elusive podium.
7. Chicago Bears- Vince Wilfork, DT Miami (FLA)
Bears get a huge steal mainly because the teams before them had some glaring needs.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars- Reggie Williams, WR Washington.
Will really help Jimmy Smith and eventually will help the Jacksonville faithful forget he's gone.
9. New York Jets- Rashaun Woods, WR Oklahoma St.
The Jets will strugle without Pennington and will give him a nice welcome back gift with the best wideout in the draft not named Williams.
10. Cleveland Browns- Nat Dorsey, OT Georgia Tech
Willie Green is the future of the proud Cleveland franchise, which is why Butch Davis will ignore another big need in the secondary to help him out.
11. Carolina Panthers- Braylon Edwards, WR Michigan
May be a little bit raw but with as much potential as any wideout in the draft, and as talented as any number 1 jersey to come out of the big house.
12. Washington Redskins- Tommy Harris, DT Oklahoma
A lack of a defensive front 4 could cost an otherwise extremely talented team a number of wins. Opporation "beef up" has begun as the Redskins get the steal of the draft .....To be continued
13. Seattle Seahawks- Sean Taylor, S Miami (FLA)
The Hawks get the all around playmaker they so desperately need on defense and actually turn their defensive backfield into a major team strength.
14. New England Patriots (from Baltimore) Derrick Straight, CB Oklahoma
The Pats need an RB but their secondary is older then Fenway Park. Straight could be a great one at corner.
15. Oakland Raiders- David Pollack, DE Alabama
Some people may be suprised but age has to catch up with the Raiders at some point. At 6-3, 270, Pollack gives them the pass rush they've been searching for.
16. San Francisco 49ers- D'Angelo Hall, CB Virginia Tech
A decimated secondary that was already nothing to write home about prooves to be the ball and chain on the 9ers playoff hopes, even with TO playing for cash.
17. Kansas City Chiefs- Karlos Dansby, LB Auburn
As much talent as almost any player in the draft but plays at a position that is overlooked. The Chiefs are thankfull for this as they now have the fastest pair of OLB's in the NFL.
18. New Orleans Saints- D.J Williams, LB Miami (FLA)
The Saints have probably shored up their front 4 but are thin at LB. This raw but incredibly talented Hurricane will help them solve that problem.
19. Indianapolis Colts- Randy Starks, DT Maryland
Even with Edge back to his old self, Dungy's D is still a year away. The underated Starks will one of the final pieces in the cover 2.
20. New York Giants- Calvin Armstrong, OT Washington State.
They no-name bunch actually made a name for themselves but they won't be able to get the big blue where it wants to be.
21. Denver Broncos- Michael Jenkins, WR Ohio State
With father time catching up to Smith and McCaffery, the Broncos can't pass up on Jenkins this late. There's another great duo on the way up in Denver.
22. Buffalo Bills- Kellen Winslow Jr, TE Miami (FLA)
Kiss the sky Mr. Bledsoe, the Bills finally pick a Hurricane that makes sense for them.
23. St. Louis Rams- Teddy Lehman, LB Oklahoma.
The Rams linebacker corps is in shambles and at this stage, they couldn't asked for more then the Sooner standout.
24. San Diego Chargers- Robert Gallery, OT Iowa
Scary to think what LT will be able to do behind a good O-line, which is something Marty does not yet have.
25. Atlanta Falcons- Vernon Carey, OL Miami (FLA)
I'm pretty sure Atlanta has seen enough of Vick getting hurt to last them a lifetime. The 6-5, 345 lbs Carey who can play 2 positions will help them protect their crown jewel
26. New England Patriots- Kevin Jones, RB Virginia Tech
Bellicheck is looking like a genius now as he gets the V-Tech superman at the bottom of the openning round.
27. Green Bay Packers- Dontarrious Thomas, LB Auburn
Favre is going nowhere, which allows the Packers to go with talent over need, and Thomas has plenty of talent.
28. Pittsburgh Steelers- Chris Gamble, CB Ohio State
Perhaps the most intriguing prospect in this draft falls to the Steelers at a position of great need.
29. Philladelphia Eagles- Antwan Odom, DE Alabama
Despite some gaping holes at wideout, the Eagles still need to make up for loosing Hugh Douglas. Pairing Odom with McDougle will give the Philly a dealy bookend tandem
30. Miami Dolphins- Tony Pape, OT Michigan.
The Dolphins are too good to go down late again but their O-line still needs improvement and the big uglies from Michigan are usually good picks
31. Tampa Bay Buccanneers Greg Jones, LB Florida St.
An insufficiant running game drops the Bucs just short of a repeat. If Jones recovers from his season ending injury, he'll provide Grueden with the workhorse he's been looking for.
32. Tennessee Titans- Bernard Berrian, WR Fresno State
McNair finally drags Tennessee past that yard that never was, and leaves them with the luxury of being able to take the best athelete on the board, who's also an area of need
