Frount this Jason La Canfora article talking about who will be getting the axe in the Skins organization and low and behold he mentioned The Funky Four.

So, what do you think the odds are of the following being seen in these parts in '07:

The Big Three (as presently constructed)

Vinny

Steve Jackson

Brandon Lloyd (I don't think there's anyway they can him after one season, but figured since he's in the news and all, I'd throw him in here).

The Funky Four

Increasingly Large Globs of Vacant Seats at Dannyland

Pre-Season Super Bowl Rhetoric

Oh no....not the Funky Four! They, along with the band, are the only sources of entertainment at home games....god forbid our team entertain us.

I can think of close to 7 million other things to axe in regards to the Redskins (not exageratting, ask me to list them!) before the Funky Four.

There have been games where the only people in the organization who didn't get booed were the Funky Four. They should give the FF another 30-60 seconds so they can do their routine the way they want to do it. And while the Li'l General is considering changes, how about letting the band play as much as it used to play? They've been moved from behind the opposing bench, where they belong. They've had their visibility and audibility during games reduced so the Li'l General can sell more stupid commercials on that puny "Jumbo"tron of his.

Wanna fire someone, Danny? Start with yourself. Take Vinny with you on the way out.

Yeah, why is it I can barely hear HTTR anymore? Up in the Upper Level, no one can stay on track with the song because no one can hear the music. At RFK, they use to blast it!!

Amen brother. This is becoming less and less of the Redskins team I loved as a little kid in the '80s and '90s.

I think the problem stems from the new Fedex Flop which one Mr. Hail2skins fails to participate. Rumor has it the man has no vertical. I am saddened by this news.

I knew it all along that it was the FF that was our problem. Without them, we would have 6 SBs by now.

Yeah, it's our fault that the playcalling and preparation has been horrible.

There are lots of fans that direct their anger at the wrong people. You guys have been doing your thing through worse times and I don't want you to stop now.
The Funky4, Superskin, Chief Zee and the marching band are all we have that makes the stadium experience unique. Please don't stop, the fair weather fans will go away but the true spirited fans must remain.

I wholeheartedly second this. I'm kind of bitter that Danny keeps cutting your time though. Actually, I'm pretty pissed off about it. And for what? Another Fedex commercial? The whole damn stadium is one big Fedex commercial. They may have spent $20M for 10 years, but they're getting every dime out of that back and then some. I imagine that you must be a bit conflicted about it yourself.

times are very different.. but had last years team gone farther inthe playoffs than it did, maybe it would have been viewed with more affection..

this years team is a stinker, easily forgotten...

I hope to see Chief Zee at the Gints game. I'd like to shake his hand again and thank him for the work he does.

Who cares what JLC thinks? This isn't news and he isn't a reporter.

But seriously fellas... You know you're loved. I think what we you should do to secure your spot for next season is to go for the quadrule moon directed to Danny's box.

Definitely pre-season Super Bowl rhetoric. The Funky Four are tight.

Smoak and his exhibitionist tendencies... ;)
If you want to go that route, we should procure seats in front of the Danny's box and let Akh unveil the 'crack of doom' on him.

The truth be told....I'd rather see the Funky Four and the marching band play than this high priced product that they market as Redskins Football.

They support each other. That last time whistling ray was at a game, he was in a wheelchair and Zee was right there with him when they bought him in through the tunnel.

I can still here it pretty good in upper deck, but then again I have a speaker pointed right at me it feels like. One friend that goes with me always comments about Danny's paychecks cutting off HTTR right in the middle of it.

The Funky Four I can take them or leave them. The dance does seem to be shorter so we can see the same stupid FEDEX commercial. Can't find the other game scores due to more of Danny's paychecks. It never ends and just seems to get worse each year. Since I am at it anyone esle can't stand the idiot radio guy that comes out before the game and babbles?

He is :) I saw him in the parking lot past 2 games before the game. He is in one of those scooter things. Last weekend 2 Eagle fans got a picture with him. Boy did he have a look on his face like he was going to puke :) Not only are those Eagle fans idiots they stink too.

When I read a thread like this, I just can't help but go back to the "winning changes everything" cliche. It is just human nature to lash out against everything in sight when the team is losing, and the media is no exception to that rule.

At this time last year, when the team was on their memorable run, I was being innundated with interview requests, and the Funky 4 got airtime on Channel 4 to show their stuff.

So, it's all relative...when we "win", all of those who represent the team and the fan base are "in"...when we lose, we are all deemed losers. It is also interesting to note that more than half the people who expressed displeasure couldnt even say their name correctly, calling them the "Funky Bunch", etc.

It just makes it all the more sweeter when our ship comes in. And when it does, I know 4 dudes who will be getting funky in the end zone during the NFC Championship game, and one spandex-clad superhero cheering them on.
