View Full Version : Beat the Rams

In case anyone forgot. We're goin' out to St. Louis to meet up with another high powered offense featuring studs like Holt, Jackson and Bulger. It's gonna be a real challenge for our D to match last week's performance. The good thing is they're weak against the run, ranked 31st in the league. And the only reason they're not ranked lower is because the Colts play in the same league ;) I'm thinking Betts is gonna get a few carries this week.

To the tune of Cheap Trick's "I Want You To Want Me"
I want you to beat the Rams
I need you to beat the Rams
I'd love you to beat the Rams
I'm begging you to beat the Rams
I'll shine up my 'ole 'Skin shoes, toast from my fave 'Skin glass
If you show up not to lose, and really kick some Ram butt

Won'tcha, won'tcha, won'tcha keep on tryin'
Oh, won'tcha, won'tcha, won'tcha keep on tryin'
Feelin' all alone without a win, you know I'll feel like dyin'
Oh, won't I, won't I, won't I see you tryin'

I want your to beat the Rams
I need you to beat the Rams
I'd love you to beat the Rams
I'm begging you to beat the Rams
I'll shine up my 'ole 'skin shoes, toast from my fave 'skin glass
If you show up not to lose, and really kick some Ram ...

LOL...to be honest, with the Redskins season in the toilet and Christmas right around the corner, I really forgot about the upcoming game; lol.

You are correct; this will be a huge challenge for our defense. Not only do they have a high-performing passing attack, but they also have a brusing RB who can run you over and he just happens to lead his entire team in receptions! (82 to be exact...which is only 17 less catches than Moss, ARE and Lloyd combined. OUCH!)

As you pointed out; their run defense is garbage...and even moreso on their own turf. They have given up 480 total yards of rushing during their last three home games. Betts has only been a starter in a dome twice...and both have resulted in 100+ yard games. Its hard to imagine him not putting up those numbers again.

The Redskins' D will need to step up and force some turnovers in this game. Like the Redskins, the Rams protect the ball very well. The biggest difference is that their defense is actually adept in creating turnovers; as evident by their turnover ratio of +12.

you do know that this seasons highest rushing game for Betts (172 yards) ended with a loss?

so if he has 201 yards, how bad will we lose then? :banghead:

You know, that is a good idea... Cook and serve the representation of the team mascot the weekend of the game. Sure when we play dallass and the Giants it might be illegal, but who cares. Is it still illegal to kill a bald eagle? What about just a regular eagle? I bet they taste great! :D

Great job OAN! Very entertaining and I definitly want to keep on winning!

So when we play the Texans can we fry the entire state of Texas!?!?!:)

EDIT: Upon further review....their corrections system may already be taking care of that...ha ha

do we practice kicking field goals? or practice our short yardage offense? it's meaningless now except for the experience. i just hope they will practice making the decision faster.

Lloyd hasn't been in our best graces as of late. He got frustrated and threw his helmet while on the field and got a 15-yarder for it. Gibbs and him had a sit-down to discuss.

BTW - Antwan Randal El has supplanted him in the starting lineup each of the last two games. Not sure if this was because of the helmet tossing incident or if ARE simply beat him out for the spot.

IMO, you can have him back.

well dont feel too bad like the guy we drafted with that 3rd round pick (brandon williams-WR) hasnt done much, hes our punt returner and sometimes kick returner and well is ok but nothing spectacular.

So is it the lloyd just sucks with you guys or that nobodies passing him the ball or what?

Both. He didn't get many opportunities when Brunell was behind center but now that Campbell's the QB he's just not producing. There have been two or three perfect passes 30 yards down the sideline that should have been easy catches and touchdowns but Lloyd hasn't been able to bring them in.

ya sounds a bit familiar with lloyd the easy catches are hard and the hard catches are easy.
and he's totally afraid to take a hit. cost us a game last season cause of that.
oh well i think if he gets the right attitude he can be a very good #2 WR.

I'm going to be in Alabama this weekend, and I'd love to get a look at that map that shows which games will be airing where. Have I missed it?

Thanks.

agreed. IMO what we needed was someone bigger, taller and faster. we need another Art Monk to compliment Moss and Randle El.

(i know there's only one Art Monk, one of the greatest ever).

Why not bring Darnerian back? Coach Gibbs compared him to Monk.

he was a tight-end in college. he had something like 18 TD's his senior year. someone should probably try using him like the Cowboys did with Novachek. he's big and tall, but he is dedicated to other stuff like art and poetry or something, not all consumed with his football future.
