I just talked to Axegrinder and he said he has been unable to access the website for 5 days now.
Here is what he is saying.
I can't even connect to the page.Occassionally it sends me to a sidesearch.
I'm using windows xp.
"Everytime" I type in or link to hR,I get a message that Internet Explorer can not display webpage.I have connectivity on my end.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

5 days without hR? Axe must be having pretty bad withdrawl, lol. Can he access other websites? Are any others inaccessible or just hR?

Tell him to download Firefox. (http://www.firefoxuserguide.com/co/firefoxuserguide/?sid=M2AG0001fGS)
If that doesn't work, he needs to look at his internet settings. He also should clear his cookies and be sure that he hasn't inadvertantly blocked any cookies.

This is good advice, but lets check something first. It'spossible that he inadvertantly blocked the site using a toolbar, ZoneAlarm or maybe even IE. Or it could be an issue elsewhere.
You might ask him to see if he can ping hR:
1) Start->Run
2) type "cmd" and click OK (less the quotes)
3) At the command prompt, tell him to type "ping hailredskins.com" and press enter. (less the quotes)
That should return back an IP address (actually 3 times) that says the internet address of hR. If it does, then his problem is probably with the browser or a plug in and he should do what Rich says. If it does not, then it is his computer that cannot see the site, which could be firewall or something else.

Sounds like a security for firewall setting. If he's running IE 7, the firewall may have been turned on when he installed it. He should check that.

If his problems started when the board was down, his browser may have been screwed up. I always have to delete my cookies and restart or I will keep getting an error message.

Has this issue been resolved yet? I looked at his profile and his last activity was the 18th so I'm thinking he is still having trouble.
If someone has a way to get into contact with him, PM it to me. I'm pretty much free today and this weekend and if he allows it, I wouldn't mind stopping by his house to take a look.

He probably has uncontrollable vomiting and the shakes by now from this drug we call hR lol.

this may end up being misleading. i am obviously on the site, but i can't ping it...keeps telling me i timed out.

alright, if I help him out, I want my description to read Resident Computer Man
(hey, you made shally Grumpy Old Man)
1. Is he accessing the website from home or work?
2. Start, Run, services.msc, see if Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing is started. If it is, stop it, and change mode from Automatic to Disabled.
Respond back to let me know how these work, I will follow up with IE7 settings you can check later.
(And if I am right, I want the title. :Peace: )
