I predict it's going to be a very vanilla game. Don't see them doing much or showing anything that may help the Jets scouts.
Patrick may play three quarters with Rob finishing up.

As long as we don't make stupid mistake, hold on to the ball, and play with confidence, I'll be happy.

BTW, What a night , Redskins and Maryland playing at the same time - looks like a 2 TV night to me!!! LOL

Ramsey won't play three quarters.... I doubt he'll play more than one, unless Spurrier still wants him to get more time than most starters right now.

I predict that I'll feel lucky that the one preseason game I might not see all of because I have to get up really early the next morning is when we play Jacksonville.

We should see plenty of Leftwich, I'm sure, since it is the fourth game. I'm a big believer in Leftwich and think he will be a huge star [he reminds me so much of Dan Marino], but I doubt he's better than Mark Brunell right now. I'm baffled about why Brunell takes so many shots from Jags fans. The team has been pulled apart by the salary cap and ravaged by injuries during the last 2-3 years there. What do they expect of Brunell? He's a good quarterback. Leftwich, I think, will be even better. Just not yet.

I can see Ramsey playing half of the 1st quarter if that long. Normally starters get a series or two in the 4th preseason game and then it's turned over to 2nd and 3rd stringers and players on the bubble.

I think that Taylor will have a solid game. He'll rush for over 40 yards.

When healthy, Fred Taylor is as good as any tailback in football. [Including Marshall Faulk.] That doesn't happen very often, though.

Jacksonville's coaches would inept to play Taylor more than a series. They would be wise to not even put him in. He's nicked up already and with his injury history...

Yeah, all things considered, I wouldn't give Taylor more than three carries in this game. If that many. With Stacy Mack in Houston the Jaguars have nothing behind Taylor.

Marshall Faulk is overrated. Taylor is better. He will play well on Thursday. You just watch.

I'm not expecting Taylor to play that much but he's had a of running all over us.

Samuels will hold Douglas to no sacks

Our running game will struggle

Ramsey should have a nice day against a weak secondary

The Jags will have a tough time passing

I dont want to see Leftwich start over Brunell... I need him to post good #'s as my backup QB.

Yeah, this game will be almost totally, no, totally uneventful. I don't want to see a Jag breathe on Ram. That damned helmet to helmet hit freaked me out the other night! We got a nice confidence builder against the Ravens, great. Now let's bland this last one out and get outta dodge without another Noble catastrophe. I'd like to see Betts get a little work and the D Line hold up like last week. That's it. Don't even play Robert Royal more than a few snaps!

You said it DJ I would take faulk 10 out of 10 times over Taylor! Maybe Green is good meant Peter Faulk????

As much as I hope we play well and come out of Jax healthy, I am anxious to see Byron play.

Keep the starters healthy, give Sultan one more look, make another strong showing on the lines. That's what's important.

You Faulk supporters are just like those "experts". The Rams will go NOWHERE this year.

im not a faulk supporter, but he is better than fred taylor IMO. i dotn even like the rams.....fred's good but he aint no faulk. anyway...i hope the starters inly get 0ne quarter and let the backups battle for jobs. it would be a shame to lose someone in the last, especially meaningless pre-season game.

I look for Ramsey to maybe play 1 or 2 posesions and thats it. At least thats what I want to see. Don't want PR to get hurt his last preseason game. (knocking on wood)

Fred Taylor may be better than Faulk.....but we'll never really know since Fred cant stay healthy to play a full season to compare #s...

Faulk is the best running back in football. Part of that distinction includes the ability to get over injuries. In 2000, he played 1 week after having knee surgery, if I am not mistaken, against the Redskins.

Taylor has never gotten over any of his injuries in 1 week, not even the ones that didn't require surgery.

Guys, let's not forget Priest Holmes. For the last two years he has been the best player in football. If he's healthy this year, the Chiefs are going to be ferocious.

JoeDaSchmoe

I dunno, they were firing on all cylinders last year and they still just went 8-8. Yeah, they've made a few defensive pickups, but soething tells me they're still gonna have a big problem keeping points off the board.

Spence
08-26-2003, 10:43 AM
Chiefs will still give up a lot of points, but they'll score more if Priest is healthy. That team has improved itself. It plays in a tough division, but nobody would want to play them because they can hand 40 points to anyone.

Is Holmes going to start the season? I thought there was some conjecture and uncertainty regarding this, vis a vis the drafting of Johnson.

For the Redskins:
No first string players beyond the 1st quarter ! - offense or defense!
No injuries - period !

Let the coaching staff get a good look at the bubble players prior to the cut down date.

Yup give those bubble guys plenty of practice...lets see alot of Hadman as well. Where the heck has this guy been?
