i hope champs willing to meet us in the middle on some of those numbers and shouldnt we be paying him closer to 7 million a year if were not giving him a 18 million signing bonus?Thats probably hard for him to swallow making 1 mil less per year than Ty Law.l

Did you see that Champ is winning that 'best CB in the NFL pole' next to the article by a nice margin? Give the man his money and restructure/cut elsewhere.

That's my thought, Hailyeah. Unless Bailey comes in with a total drunken sailor bid [apologies to drunks and sailors everywhere], the Skins have got to keep Champ in burgundy and gold. He's not only a shutdown cornerback, he is THE shutdown cornerback. We cannot lose him. No way, no how, no chance.

Is it me or does he seem alot more outspoken this season then ever before. I am not just talking about his contract demands but his whole attitude. I don't think its a bad thing mind you just noticed a change.

I think he's drinking Smoot's Kool-Aid. Darrell Green is gone five minutes and suddenly Champ is acting like JJ from "What's Happening?" :D

Correction: JJ was NOT on "What's Happening?"...........He was on "Good Times." "What's Happening?" featured Re-Run, Dee, and Rodger.

How could you confuse Good Times with What's Happening?

You know, I'm had a feeling "What's Happening?" was wrong, but I couldn't think of the right name. "Good Times" is the show I liked. Never did like "What's Happening?"

The bottom line is Champ is the most gifted all around football player the Redskins have ever had. He is 25 years old and considered the best player at his position in the NFL which is something I cannot ever remember being a title that has ever been bestowed a redskin... One positive about these negotiations is that has seemed to bring a sertin amount of aggressivness out of Champ that we haven't seen before..

Well, to go offtopic for a bit. rskinsfan10 and I just got back from playing for Green. He sponsors a boat ride every year along the Potomac. This year, they were on the Odyssey. Normally, we get no love from anyone there other than the fans that listen to us play as they're boarding the boat. While we were eating the Subway food they supplied, Green came over and chatted with us for about 20 minutes, maybe longer. He talked about what his foundation does. As if we didn't know already. He took some ribbing from a couple of members in the band as to us not going on the boat trip. It was nice for him to come talk to us as he has never done it before.

As for Champ, yeah, he's much more outspoken this year than he has been in the past. I guess that's what being the best at your position can do for you when you're expecting a huge pay day.

I like that Champ is adding a little swagger to his game because it's making people notice him. The more they think about him, the less they can focus on running their offense.
OT: I don't think Ronde should be in a list of the top four corners in the league. You can make an argument for top 10, but he's been the beneficiary of a great front 7 and a good system. I think all that makes him look better than he is. Put him in a man role all the time and see how he does.

Man, something like that at least warrants Ribs, Chicken, and all that good stuff - LOL. Hope you had a good time regardless - DG is a class act.
