Coach Weis puts an end to Giants rumor with refreshing candor.

Weis would eat Eli Manning. If he were to go pro, he said that it would be "after his son in 8th grade graduated high school".

As emphatic as he was in his answer, it leads one to question whether he knew ahead of time that his ex-coaching comrade Saban was going to taker take the Bama job.

Watching the Sugar bowl, this thread should be retitled: "Weis insists that he can beat a good college team at Notre Dame.....eventually"

They're getting hammered tonight, but Weis is still playing with other people's recruits. In a couple years, I think ND will be numero uno again. Dynasty time approaches.

Why exactly is Weiss in the position to ward off NFL offers? What exactly has he done of any significance at Notre Dame? What powerhouse team has he beaten? His crowning achievement is ALMOST beating USC last year at home. Big freaking whoop.

He's getting it handed to him right now, just like ND did whenever they played a top level team this year. After Weiss called that horrible fake punt on his own thirty I was almost praying that he would take the Giants job.

Eh, with the talent he has, there's no excuse for looking like crap whenever he plays a ranked team. He's recruiting good classes, but his poor coaching under pressure will hamstring it.

ND is getting utterly humiliated tonight. Remember- LSU is essentially playing with Nick Sabin's players, in the flower of their youth. I can't lay a loss like this at Charlie's doorstep. He is a master tactician of the game.

What? LSU can win with another former coach's recruits but ND can't? That makes no sense.

One former coach is toiling away in Bigfoot Country, the other is now the highest paid coach in the land. That's the difference.

I still don't get it. If youhave to win with someone else's players, then that's what you have to do. I don't hear Weis sobbing uncontrollably about having Brady Quinn thrust upon him.

miles inherited a much better group of players than weis did. keep in mind, willingham's final team either didnt make it to a bowl game, or played oregon state. weis took that team to a BCS game. ordinary players like quinn, samardzija, and stovall became super stars.

I'm a little biased, since I spent 10 years in an AFC East town (Boston) and fell under the spell of Parcells, Belichick, and Weis at different times. But Charlie's team was mugged tonight, and I'll be interested in what he has to say about it.
