didn't see anyone else start this, and as much as i disagree with her policy, i can't ignore that this is a historic moment. congrats to Nancy.

I heard some lobbyist saying that all the changes the Dems propose would mean 1 more form for them and they could take the money for food/drinks and pay their staff more or hire more people. But it wouldn't change much.

sorry, but until the dems start fielding their candidates from mars nothing is going to change on the hill. money and power are simply an inseparable pair. they might have the occaisional oddball like proxmire, but not very many...

No it's interior monologue; like Finnegans Wake.

Joyce's Finnegans Wake, or Captain Underpants And The Preposterous Plight Of The Purple Potty People. I can't decide.

Both are mind expanding allegories of literary genius; one of them just uses more alliteration.

Im assuming you mean Pelosi. I guess my answer is that I don't think Dems took back the house because they ran on the platform that they would win the war in Iraq immediately. In fact, most people acknowledge that is a Quagmire and most beleive the situation is unwinnable (Some of us even said so in 2002, but were called traitors and terror apologists). But Im glad that you expect the Dems to accomplish in 48 hours what GOP led by our CIC couldn't do in 4 years.

I think nobody answered due to the absurdity of the post.

I am just asking since Pelosi, et al, have been telling us they can fix things and that we should elect them. I'm just wondering when to expect the Utopia.

(since there is apparently a shortage on humor today, I will let anyone know this is what we call sarcasm)

Well I understood that you were being sarcastic initially. But then to respond to yourself because you were awaiting a response from someone else led me to believe that maybe you were serious.

Two terms of Democratic congressional leadership wrapped around the first term of a Democratic President should do the trick. I'd say we will be swimming in flowers and sweets, with cars getting 45 MPG, health insurance for everyone, racial harmony, the right to privacy, US soldiers getting the benefits of a free education without having to actually fight a pointless war, a chicken in every pot, and pot in every bowl, in about six years...IF we get a Democratic President in 2008, and Congress remains in Dems hands in 2010.

I promise this result. This promise is as good as every one of the Bush Administration's promises since he was elected, so you Republicans out there know it is sound. If you are against this plan, you are a traitor. So please, all you Republicans and Independents out there do your patriotic duty and vote for the Democratic nominee in 2008, and Utopia.

It wasn't. I thought it was quite good actually, then Spence goes and ruins all the fun by drawing a Shuler-Reagan Parallel.
