Quote from Lionel Dalton
"There's nothing on paper yet, but I like it," Dalton said of an opportunity with the Redskins. "My wife is definitely excited (because she has family back East). It's a great situation if I have an opportunity to start there."

I just hope that we do not have to sell the farm to get him. As much as I want Dalton (and I do want him).......I'm more concerned about Champ (and Arrington) at this point. I do share your excitement PSF, however. Now that you are a year older....might you be a year wiser also?

I love all the various and spurious reasons given for why Dalton might be here. Only two things matter: Denver's compensation and Dalton's money.

Skinsfan1906 its more about the draft compensation then salary cap comp. He has already said many times he would restucure his contract. So no need to worry about that.

If it's on what is supposed to be Skins term (7th and 600k$) it's ok for me.

It will probably be a 5th round draft Pick. 7th is for Chase which could turn into a 6th - so technically those two picks are used. Now if we pull a George Allen and start dealing 2005 picks, anything goes.

I agree with dealing 2005 picks! Future is now!

Even if he restructure the deal, he still has the money owed to him, either in later years or in the form of a bonus which gets spread out over the remaining years of the contract. Either way, we will have to pay him what he has coming.

The team that recieves a player in a trade doesn't pay any of the bonus money. It all rests with the giving team.

Getting him would be nice. I wonder who we would release though. I think we will pull the trigger on this one soon. I am glad that the FO didn't think that we were "Fixed" after the Ravens game. I know they will play it cool, but I read that Denver wants a trade done today.... He will probably come since his wife has family back east.
Hey Dan Snyder send his wife a dozen roses and a plane ticket so she can come and pick out a nice condo or something. Send her a 100 min. phone card so she can call her fam.... or is it cheaper to dial 10-10-220?
