View Full Version : Quick, who's your sleeper?

Okay, we've seen a portion of the first group of cuts with the rest to be announced later today. Pick one undrafted FA who you like to make the team, the 53 man roster. This should be an obscure pick, a true shot in the dark.

For instance, my pick is DB Larry Austin. He's a big physical corner who excelled on Special teams at Virginia Tech. I think he makes it as a Coach Stock pick to bolster ST's.

Who else will go out on a limb before 4pm today?

I really would like to see Sultan make the team. I don't know how he will make the team but I'm pulling for him.

Don't think he will though...

Larry Austin is only 5'8" out of VT (very fast). You may be confusing him with Fred Booker 6'3" DB out of LSU (who been everywhere). Regardless my sleeper and really not much of one but you said free agent ...... Peppy Zellner.

I have been pretty happy with Zellner so far from the high lights I've seen of him...

I was hoping Cliff Smith and Ade Jimoh would make the squad ever since they were picked up this spring. Both were big time college players who slipped off the boards for various reasons. What I'm really hoping now is that all these "no name" defensive linemen, excell. Not only because we need them on the field, but also because they will save us some coin. Lord knows we'll need it for our star players.

My bad, I was thinking of Adebola Jimoh originally when I was searching for a sleeper. "I'm sorry Mr. Garrison, I got confused."

Jimoh is a big corner who I thought would get some looks at FS, but with the competition there he would be squeezed out. That's why I went with Austin.

Zellner was a UFA. I'm looking for College FA's.

I'd probably have to go with Clifton Smith. He's looked good, Sonny likes him, and Dan listens to Sonny.

My sleeper is Skaggs..he is brought back in after being cut by the Broncos and edges Cliff Russell out for a roster spot. ;)

Chris Clemons. Got talent. If he stayed for his senior year he would have possibly gone on the first day of the draft.

Martin Chase. Dont underestimate him. I think he could become one of the more significant pickups recently. I have a feeling Chase is going to prove to be a great addition.

Technically PSF, Chase is not a valid selection, he was traded for, not an undrafted college free agent, so it is highly unlikely he will be cut. Way to go out there on that limb!

He was cut by San Fransico, and i would like him back
