Let's put all of the Charlie Weis-to-the-NFL possibilities to bed, shall we? I've got the real number it would take to buy him out of his contract, which has nine years left to run at Notre Dame. That figure plus the fact that he doesn't want to leave should take him out of the NFL pool for the foreseeable future.

The rock-solid, no-exceptions buyout number for Weis from Notre Dame: $21 million.

Mother of God, I don't think even Snyder would pony up that much cash for him.

I'm surprised his one exception would be the Redskins. Since we all know how Snyder likes to throw his money around.

Wow, yeah even The Dan wouldn't pay that ... at least I hope not.

lets just say that Danny is putting together a Charlie Weiss fund right now for when Gibbs leaves. It has an extra million in it for Williams as well.

remember Danny gave 20 million in guaranteed money to Lloyd and Arch this last year.

That's a lot of money for in some respect an unproven commodity.

especially with potential health issues.. he is a big man before even starting out under the pressure of nfl coaching.. look how reid ballooned, mangini got bigger, holmgren has aged a lot..

you never know how much stress he could take..

right, nobody would want to look into a guy who helped turned tom brady into arguably the greatest QB in history, and won 3 rings as an offensive coordinator. yeah, id rather have whisenhunt or bobby petrino  .

edit: although nobody is gonna pay $21 million on top of whatever theyd have to pay weis to even make him consider leaving ND.

Ah its cool he got his stomach stapled.

There were complications during surgery. Almost killed him.
He's a Notre Dame grad, so I really don't see him going anywhere, ever, for money.
