I already have a gas grill so, so I'm looking into getting one of these for my new house. Of course I'll need a new patio to go with it.

I posted this on another board, but I'm getting one of these bad boys, maybe today, but definately by Saturday. Any other fellow grillers out there??

I started smoking earlier this fall, and haven't been very successful at it. I've been having trouble keeping a sustained temperature, although it could be b/c I always attempt to smoke when its cold and windy outside. Also, my stuff tends to be try, yet rare on the inside...very wierd.

I have a piece of crap smoker, and I'm thinking I need to invest in a better one to produce better results.

The one you are buying looks great. Tell us how well it works.

Most of the time smoked food tastes nasty anyway. It tastes exactly like smoke.Ill stick with my normal grill.

I do a little grilling. I go old school with the Weber kettle but I'm thinking about buying or making a myself a smoker. I need a new toy, plus I can't get enough food on my current grill.

Looked easy to make, eventhough I cannot remember how, and it worked out well for him.

That would be Alton Brown. He's a fricking genius. Very smart guy and seems pretty cool too. I love watching his show. Him and Bobby Flay are my 2 favorites.

I've been using a Holland Grill (The Tradition) since 1999. I love it. It grills, smokes, steams. Check em out: http://www.hollandgrill.com/

You sure it was a smoker? Sounds like a homemade tandoor.

I was thinking more along the lines of cutting a steel 55 gallon barrel in half lengthwise, cutting a hole in the bottom half side and attaching a smoker box to it. Maybe even putting some wheels and a tow tongue on it. Kind of a monster garage smoker/grill, if you will.

That's pretty sweet but I am a charcoal and wood man. The only time I use gas is when tailgating, because of the convenience and that may change too.
