Del Rio also repeatedly referred to Brunell as “our starting quarterback”. Jets GM Terry Bradshaw told The New York Daily News that the Jags asked if the Jets were interested in “a quarterback” after Chad Pennington went down with a broken wrist, but that Jacksonville did not mention Brunell by name.

With Brunell slated to receive $6.75 million this season, Byron Leftwich signed, and Del Rio alluded to a “ripple effect” the four-game suspension of wide receiver Jimmy Smith might have on the Jacksonville roster, it isn’t far-fetched to picture the Jags sans Brunell this season. Even if the Jags aren’t officially shopping their veteran quarterback, the rest of the league knows Brunell can be made available.
Hmmmm seems interesting that these guys didnt say anything about us wanting him!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe because these guys report facts not fiction (would have used fantasy but that is what these guys actually report on lol)
