Seems SS can't let go.

This worries me... I sure hope SS stays with Ramsey and gives him a chance to work through mistakes. Dont bring Danny in... please.

I walked into a wall once and I still remember the pain. I sure hope the ball coach hasn't walked into any walls lately cause he'd probably do it over and over again.

Sign him as a QB coach. A coach.
Aw...C'mon guys. Danny is such a good guy. He doesn't deserve the abuse he gets on here. He tries real hard....maybe too hard.....;)

I don't buy any of this. It's the last week of preseason and news is a bit hard to come by. Spurrier is being nice to his favorite player. [Which is just as well, since I don't want to see much of our first two quarterbacks in this game.] No way does Wuerffel move up from the #3 spot.

I still think the real issue is if Wuerffel bumps Hamden to the practice squad?

(this is called the "high road" ;) )
I think we will be surprised with Danny W. against the Jags. I think Danny knows this offense and unlike last season he will have some blocking and some time to let the plays develope. When he came in the Ravens game he was looking crisp but that was against the backups. I think the int. came on a tipped ball or something. I would love to see Danny do good..... it would only mean that we have a good #2. I wouldn't rule him out just yet. He knows he doesn't have a strong arm and I think if he is settled he can throw the underneth stuff and command this offense.
At least I hope he does..............

Let's see we're in Jacksonville and the "Great Gloved One" is going to play the entire second half. Hmmmmmm?! I wonder what the game plan is for the second half? Pass,Pass,Pass,Punt!
I hope Ole Ball Coach doesn't have flashbacks to "back in the day" and try to relive the past.:guillo:

What else would we do in the 4th preseaon game?!?! Let's play Hamden a lot, so he can look promising and another team can pick him up when we try to option him to the PS.
Danny deserves the same # of reps as Rob. If Rob ever does get forced into action, he is about one grass stain away from IR.
Let Danny play. I'd love to see brain overcome braun in football. Is it so horrid to have a smart backup QB?

In practices, Wuerffel's throws have, as always, lacked zip. But he still knows Spurrier's system almost as well as the coach, and is practically flawless at getting the Redskins into the proper play after checking the defensive alignment at the line of scrimmage and throwing the ball to the right receiver.
And the point is?????
Let's face it, if Ramsey goes down (Heaven forbid) the Skins are in deep do-do!!!
Johnson, Wuerffel and Hampden are not the answer - at best a quick band-aid while Danny Boy has a "wallet panic attack" and seeks another QB.
I hope Wuerfell plays well as a teaching experience for Ramsey.

I think both Rob and Danny need alot of work! Lets hope we do not need to call on either of these guys.

Danny's a bum...and is only worth a roster spot with this team as the #3 QB. I agree that he is a nice guy...but being nice doesn't advance the ball down field.

I was very down about Johnson when he signed here but he looked much better than I thought he would so he has to be the clear number 2

I think we should've signed Woeful to be a beerman. The glove would help him grip the can better.

Sorry I have read about Weurfull and he seems to be one of the most generous and nicest guys you could ever meet. The guy does alot of charity work and is very active in his church. That being said he not an NFL QB. Bring him in as a coach. I think he has alot to offer in that proffesion to be honest.

Wuerfell doesn't have the arm to make the big play in the fun n gun. It was good enough in college, but we're talking about the pros here. The way rob has been playing, I really doubt he'll get injured anytime soon. Don't forget all but one injury in his career occured when he held on to the ball and took sacks. He's really learned how to throw the ball away & play smart. This partly has to do with the fun n gun offense because it requires the qb to look for open spaces on the field, and not just the primary receiver like most offenses do. In the past, he would always wait for his primary receiver to get open, which resulted in the big sack. The only reason rob became a band aid was because he held on too long. Rob is a better #2 in this league than wuerfull, and he has the arm strength and mobility to make plays in this offense. Wuerfell should be signed as an assistant qb coach/player just like they did with CB Jimmy Spencer in Denver.

I know it's pre-season and everyone is trying to stay healthy, but I sure do get tired of seeing Johnson running rather then throwing.
DW, by his own admission, "It's just physically getting in the habit of taking your drops as quick as you can and making all the throws and all that stuff." Doesn't seem ready for #2

It is said you guys have one of the best offensive lines in the league. I doubt there will be much running than throwing with the 1st teamers in there.

I would feel better with Wuerfell as the backup over Johnson we could cut Johnson and keep the rookieas #3

Rob Johnson has got happy feet. He's a great athlete and he is more comfortable out of the pocket than in it. He could have the best offensive line in the world facing off against a PeeWee league defense and he'd still find an excuse to roll out.

From what I have seen of the Gibber, he could use at least a year on the practice squad. Maybe more. That dude is so raw I'm going to start calling him Sushi.
