I for one think that if he is mentally healed from the malady that 'caused' him to shoot President Reagan, that he should now be sent off to do the real time for the crime!

I'm inclined to agree. I think if you take a shot at the President you should pretty much expect to spend the remainder of your days in forced confinement.

I'm glad you guys feel this way. I was hesitating to comment on this when the news broke a few days ago.
I personally think he should be dead. I for one do not think he was "insane" at the time of the shooting.
Even if he was, who's to say it won't "just come back to him" later? He is a menace to society.
I do not believe that the "insane" should be kept alive by our tax dollars because they snapped one day. If they can snap once, they can snap 100 times. Depending on the severity of the offense should judge the sentence. Mentally ill or not.

I do agree with this. He is still a threat to society, and always will be. He has not been "punished" yet.

Agreed. His official diagnosis is narcissistic personality disorder. Hell, I am narcissistic and I get no slack. For example, I know for a fact that I am the best looking poster on this site, yet you do not see my picture all around this site, or any other site for that matter, I am content to revel in my own glory. So as I was saying, I haven't shot anybody due to my narcissism, much less the President. Hell, I wouldn't even shoot Spence.....well I wouldn't unless he came trying to ram his theological ideology down my throat, and then I would have to think twice.

At anyrate, I think the guy got a break with the verdict and if he is well enough to go on walks then he should now do hard time, at a maximum security facility, until hell freezes over.

How's that for a deal?

I fully agree though. Why is it our country says it's ok to whatever you want as long as you were insane, then we need to have "compassion" for you? He did what he did, and he can do it again.
