nothing really new... but it confirms that they are looking to move someone.
So a question. In the game tonight, will we be evaluating or showcasing?
Spurrier said that he knows what we have with Watson.
If Watson gets 10 or more carries, i think that we are showcasing him to other teams.
If Betts gets 12 or more (12 because he hasn't played as much as watson, so he should get more carries anyway) then we are showcasing him.
This is all speculation, but it gives an interesting dynamic to the playcalling and depth chart for the game. Just something to think about.

I like your line of thinking. I think the Skins already know what Betts and Watson are capable of from last season. Trung already has his starting spot...and Morton is going to get some 3rd down draws. Whoever gets the most carries is the one they are trying to shop, IMO.

it might be doubtful because teams know tht we will release one if no one trades...I hope one team thinks it's worth trading for Betts to keep him off the market.

I wish you guys would just trade us Ladell Betts so we can get the rumors out of the way! The media has been talking a whole lot and not saying much!

At this point, i would trade for a DE, I think were pretty set at DT.

I would not mind some more Def line help but how about a good 3rd CB.

I bet you could have TE David Sloan for Betts. He was a Pro Bowler a few years back.

If you want to give us David sloan, i think we'd be forced to throw in David terrell.
I think we are recouping picks.
I'd deal Betts for a 3rd or Watson for a 6th.

i think watson and betts are both better than trung so i dont want them to be gone.

I agree with you that Betts and Watson are talented, but if one of them is not going to get any time than we should definitely trade them, if only to get some value out of them.

Trade for a TE? Why? To watch him get a dozen receptions in Spurrier's system?

We're not trading for any tight end, I don't care how many Pro Bowls he went to five years ago. [Or whatever it was.] The Skins will want a defensive lineman or draft picks. One or the other.
I think it is kind of funny that we might be trading for draft picks. We couldn't get rid of them fast enough this year and now we want more for next year? Go figure.

We want more of them so we can sign more restricted free agents next off season. Obviously. ;)

I agree, especially Betts. Lets not get cute and get rid of a guy that could be a very productive every down back in this league. I could see if this was some over the hill RB on his last leg, but Betts is a 2nd year guy with talent. Why trade that away for a lesser round pick in a future year? If we're going to improve the current roster for the impending season by adding D line help, then fine, do it if it makes sense. Its this shady prognostication of future needs that always annoys me. Its not like we don't have our own existing picks in the 2004 draft already. Who knows what will come to light during this season? Lets get the damned games going and put all this trade talk behind us.

How about Betts or Watson AND Terrell for a 2nd and 4th round draft choices? In any event, it looks like Sultan McCollough is going to make the roster.
Or.......How about a RB, Terrell AND Smoot for Charles Woodson. If we can extend Champ.......to have Champ and Woodson as our corners would be SICK!!!!

Oakland has more than enough RBs to go around.

I'd rather not trade Terrell. He's a valuable multi-position player. You can use him at free safety. He can also play some nickel cornerback. Plus, he's our best special teams tackler.

The Skins apparently don't even want to pay Champ his money. You think the FO wants half the payroll on Woodson and Champ?
Smoot and Champ are a fine tandem. Not a need area whatsoever.

I don't know if it is in thier consideration but next years draft class is rated much higher in quality and depth than the previous two. One service I read has it rated between 1999s draft (very good)and 1983s (the best ever).
