I read this on profootballtalk so take it with a grain of salt but it seems like it makes a lot of sense for all the temas involved.

Jags trade leftwich who they named the starter yesterday and a draft pick or two to Oakland for Randy Moss. Oakland trades the first pick to Cleveland. Cleveland drafts Jamarcus. Oakland then can still address one of there needs with an elite player. I'm thinking Calvin Johnson. I think this makes sense for all the teams and Oakland would get a lot younger and actually get a good base to build for the future.

Oakland should sell their soul to trade down. One player is not making that team better.

I don't understand why any team would want Moss.

Uhm, maybe I'm missing something, but in this scenario Cleveland gets the first pick for free..or is it a given that they trade some package of picks to the Raiders?

The article said that Cleveland is doing everything they can to get Jarmarcus but failed to say what they would actually be giving up. I'm guessing it would be there first and a combination of other picks as well.

They can get peyton manning for a 5th rounder, it won't really matter behind that oline of theirs.

I agree they will still suck but you have to start somewhere and this seems like a good place to me.

they need serious help on the OL. Bringing in a guy like Leftwich doesn't make sense due to his lack of mobility and durability issues.

Trade down and get a few picks, use them all on the OL and maybe a WR or TE. They can address QB in FA or a trade. Should be someone with mobility.

The Jags give up Leftwich AND a couple of picks for Moss? I would think Leftwich would be more valuable than Moss and if anything Oakland should have to throw in a pick. Plus, why would the Jaguars want Moss when they already have 4 6'+ recievers on their roster?

The Jags are not giving up Leftwich. Why would they. Not for another Receiver. They do need someone to stretch the field, but only if they felt that Guarrd could handle the starting job. Plus, didn't Del Rio just name Leftwich his starter for 2007.

I think Del Rio named Leftwich the starter like Gibbs named Ramsey the starter. I could see them trading leftwich, but I don't think that any of the teams mentioned could really use him, considering that they all have bad olines, which is probably why they are where they are.
