Next week will see the process start in earnest when a thread is opened for you to nominate your favourite players, coaches etc, who you would like to see considered in the voting for our very own Hall. We expect a wide range of names to be put forward and they will need trimming down.

That thread will be open for two weeks and once it closes, it will be the job of the committee to slim that class down to 18 Redskins and 6 former NFL greats which you will then all vote on.

Please extend your thanks to the guys who will give up ther time to help this process work.

Any one want to bet which guy is going to be part of the first class. Here is a hint his name rhymes with Bart Sunk.

I don't know about that. I mean where is his signature catch? Why is his YPC so low? What has he done in the post season?

I bet his name more rhymes with Cycle Servin'. :lol1:

I am soooo looking forward to sending hate mail to all these "voters" when they don't vote in the guy I want...;)

Edit: By the way, will the voting be public?

The thing that's different about this committee is that we know where they are. IF we don't like a move, we have access to them. :D

Awesome. We should start brainstorming some ideas..do we have actual pictures of all these voters? Should I install Photoshop right now?

I think we should come up with ideas specific to the each committee member. What might hurt one might not hurt the other. We need to hit each one of them where it really hurts to get our point across.

Well, there are only a few Boys that arent in the hall of fame that after a period of time when others are in this HOF that i will be suggesting. Bob Hayes and Drew Pearson.

So i hope no one thinks that i have a hidden agenda. I only applied for the NFL spot to offer outsider opinions.

Absolutely. For our own favorite Siracuse-based member, for instance, I've already prepared some photos of a king-sized bed, Dale Lindsey, and Warrick Holdman....

It is a tragedy that Bob Hayes isn't in the HOF. When they create a defense to stop you (Zone Defense), chances are you had an impact on the game.

Yes i agree, so after all the obvious people are in, he will be my choice.

Flave - Remind me again, which positions will make up the NFL portion of this year's class? Are we to only consider those NFL greats not already in Canton?

This year it will be QB, RB and WR.

No it is not restricted to those outside Canton. We will after all induct our Hall of Fame players that qualify this year.

I must reiterate that the NFL class is in essence not a Hall of Fame class and is in my mind too be regarded differently. It is a recognition of the wider game and the players that we have admired as lovers of the game.

We are Redskin fans and would always find it hard to vote on divisions rivals with impartiality, however we do know that the Lawrence Taylors, Deion Sanders, Emmitt Smiths will receive appropriate recognition in due time.

Should we send the Art Monk video to the committee? We need to figure out which ones are on the fence and pressure them hard!

As a member of the voting committee, I ask that you please DO NOT send me any DVD's of Art Monk.

The guy was nothing more than an 8-yard hitch route runner. And no one outside of DC really thinks the guy is worth 2 cents, anyway. We all know Gary Clark was the more dangerous receiver on those 80's Redskins teams.

So since you don't want any Monk videos, where would you like this bomb...I mean... Gray Clark video sent to? :D

Because it was dissapearing off the board. This is a process I want members too be fully aware off. Not sure why I am explaining myself.

I thought we settled on those players who played great against the Redskins. Those players from other teams who you always hated. Roger Staubach would definitely come to mind.

Am I misunderstanding that Flave?

I had proposed both ways of doing things, players who troubled us and former greats of the game.

My instinct was that it would be great to elect people like Jim Brown, Payton, Montana etc and actually send them recognition of that fact as well as making a presentation to a rival fan board.

I felt that the other way would be a little restrictive and maybe too personal for a lot of us.

We can make this class anything we want to, vote for different things each year. I see no problem with us one year voting the best ever Cowboy, Eagle, Cardinal and Giant.

Lets decide this as a committee. Look out for a PM.

Yeah, maybe we should disqualify Deion for being the worst Redskins signing ever.

No, I guess Deion was just as bad if not worse.
