He looks to be the real deal.

He covers well...
He actually "wraps up" on tackles. (which was evident on that one play in the first quater)
He covers well on special teams....

Cutting Molden seems realistic, now. Bauman is our true nickle back.

Agreed. I like Bauman alot. Plays with heart and tackles real. Did miss one though.

He played with the most heart of anyone out there tonight, and he wasn't even fighting for a job. I like this guy. Like him a lot.

I didn't think that "missed tackle" was as muffed as Sonny let on. I think Bauman actually slowed down the receiver's downfield movement with his body...thus allowing someone else to pick up the tackle.

Regardless..I'm happy with his performance.

I think he will serve adequately as the #3 this year.

You know, TACKLING is one of my pet-peeves. I played High School Football and LEARNED how to tackle at a young age. For the life of me, I don't understand why Smoot and Champ simply "dive" at the feet of a ball carrier and expect that to be the end all. Isn't this the NFL?? Shouldn't these guys know the "proper" way to tackle by now??? That my friends, isn't a "tackle"....that is a "dive". Bauman actually tackles............and from a technique standpoint............he "tackles" better than Smoot or Bailey. I still like him as a Nickel back as opposed to a #2 CB.

He's just another weapon no one bothers about in our secondary

I just made the tackling comment in another thread. He is our best tackler at CB. He's a little small but makes up for it by playing with heart. Does that remind you of someone else who used to play for us?
