A shout out from the West Coast to all your Easterners, where it is still Friday. Happy Birthday to JAVIER YSET, RedsknRebel, Alex96850 , GenMgr , Skin-aficionado, and DenBronco7 to 1, glad that we are all PISCES.

A big :bday: to z'mule and shally who somehow coincidentally were born on the same day and year ?!?!?

And pray tell me, it looks like our ageless and knowledgeable one is celebrating a birthday that ends in 0.....

well, i do not even know how to begin.... oh, yes i do...

IT SUCKS TO BE 60...... i would far prefer to be 18 again, or 35, or even 50...

now that we have gotten that out of the way, let me lay out some basic truths..

no, 60 is not the new 40

no, i am not ageing gracefully

and no, age is most certainly not just in your mind or on the calendar.. but what is a body to do ? the alternatives are simply not so hot.

now that we have gotten the negatives out of the way, let me say thank you to all of you here who make each day a joy to log on and swap stories and opinions with. it simply would not be as much fun without you. i guess you might surmise that given the ridiculous amount of posts i send up here.
thank you to mods and admins as well for putting up with my cantakerousness and inappropriate comments. sometimes you guys have the patience of saints.

thanks to my dear children who sometimes think they are orphans, but know that they are not because they can hear me pecking away. thanks to my wonderfull, beautifull, red-headed wife. despite all the cracks she knows i have eyes and heart only for her

and thanks above all to my Lord who chose to spare me from my insane foolishness during hurricane katrina and who brought me safely to the lovely place that is my adopted home now.. and who permits me to grouse about being 60 when Lord knows that in my heart i am forever gratefull for this sweet life that i been given to enjoy every day

God Bless you all

Well it stinks when you wake up one morning and discover you're closer to 40 than 30 and with a child about to enter high school. I share your sentiment my friend. IT SUCKS TO BE 36.

Don't they say we get wiser and older at the same time? I'd rather be wiser.
(it's my only excuse now)

As long as we have our health and sanity and family, that is all we can ask for anymore. Everything else extra is the icing on the cake.
