I'm not a tax lawyer, but I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest there might be a few tax reasons for this partial relocation. Or maybe they just want their key people to be closer to where most of the fraud is committed.

... and further from the pillow fight the Justice Department has planned for them.

You have to admit, if you want a cool looking building for a headquarters, it doesn't get much better than the ones in Dubai. ;)

First Michael Jackson moves to Dubai, now Haliburton? Is every Daily Show punchline going to run there?

What did you expect in this era of multinational conglomerates? National loyalty? LMAO! The Fortune 1000 will move to Dubai, sell our quality of life overseas and bribe our elected officials (who are all too eager to accept it) if it means a 3% quarter on quarter increase.

LOL, funny 'cause it's true. The difference between me and a populist is that I don't blame the corporation for what they are or expect them to act any different. As the old fable says, "it's their nature". What I don't think is acceptable is to hand them noncompete contracts, tax breaks or sweatheart deals when they have no reciprocal allegiance. We know the nature of the multinational, we know why they exist and ultimately where their interests lie. They don't care where they make their money. Why fawn over them?

And further, why are we surprised when they act out of purely profit-driven motivations. And seek to influence...things...to expand their profit making ability.

yes, you live long enough and some mighty strange things happen along the way.. as the gratefull dead once sang, "what a long strange road this has been.."
we did cajun/zydeco music and the casino wanted a band that could play that style.. it was a 3 month gig and there was no way i could have taken that much time off from my practice to go. but even so, there was no way
under their contracts..lots of restrictive other things you could not do. like drinking in public or making comments in public about the rulers or women in general.. i could just see a new orleans band agreeing to not drink !!! right !!
that is the way of life for most of those cats

You haven't lived until you've seen Shally smash a banjo to pieces against a 12-foot high Bose speaker after a tight set.
