How does a team that win the super bowl get a 3rd. They lost people but they still won it all. Makes no sense to me

this system is pretty retarded in my opinion, playoff teams should only get 1 comp pick

simply put... there should be NO compensatory picks.. teams make a choice to sign or not sign. why should they then get extra help ?

how many playoff teams managed to get a compensatory?

THAT is retarded if you look at the number of playoff teams that were supposedly at a disadvantage last year.

Sheesh!

The same people that give out these picks, must be the same ones that vote for the Hall of Fame...because they use the same logic...none!! :banghead:

The whole concept of rewarding team for failing to keep their players is bull excrement.

A few observations:
- All our picks except our first rounder just dropped down 10 spots (at least) for no particular reason.
- It is ridiculous that the NFL does not communicate officialyl the policy for handing our these picks. Until they do so there will be conspiracy theories all ovdr the place.
- It is even more ridiculous that the NFL hands out these picks in the first place, because they not only help the teams that get them, but hurt the ones that don't. I will keep an eye on the 10 players chosen in the 10 spots before our 5th rounder.

More than that for our 6th and 7th rounds............ Doesn't matter, we weren't going to use them anyway ....

Well, considering that they are basically all we have after #6, it still isn't very wonderful news...

i agree comp picks should be done away with completely. if the league insists on giving out extra picks then they should just extend the draft another round or two and give all teams picks like they would normally be slotted.

defeats the purpose of choice when it comes to free agency

I hate them too.. but how would we love to have a 3rd and 4th :)

This picks should be given to teams that seem unable to hold on to their own draft picks, lol

AliBabba

seriously, nobody deserves free draft picks more than us ... in retrospect though that really only means more picks for the jets and broncos and maybe thats not really that fair :)

considering we signed others to replace them, we will get nothing next year also

IS anyone really surprised?

ChiefPowhatan17
03-28-2007, 09:43 AM
No I am not surprised, I don't expect the league to give us anything that will help our team. The league would rather keep the SKINS down. Compensatory picks IMO are totally unfair. So if your team is good in Free Agency then you get nothing, If your team is bad then you get rewarded. I don't think there should be any compensation at all. It should be purely Capitalistic.

I can't believe they give out 3rd round picks. The Ravens live off this stuff.
