Some Redskins MUSIC!

If, like me, your brain is near spontaneous combustion pondering all the latest offseason rumours, possibilities, etc., perhaps you would enjoy checking out some music written specifically for our beloved team. By me.

Believe it or not (I still can't), the Skins recently asked me to write some music for their upcoming "Greatest Moments" DVD, which was an incredible thrill and honor.

Anyway, two of those pieces are up on my myspace site (http://www.myspace.com/dissonline), if you want to listen. (I did four pieces altogether).

I tried to take the "NFL Films meets U2" approach on the first one. The second one, "Defense," originally had big, nasty guitars, but they preferred this version, with orchestration instead. I wanted it to sound menacing and fearsome, you know, like our 2006 defense (sorry).

Anyway, listen to that first song and try to imagine all the great 'Skins moments so you will (hopefully) get the desired effect. This documentary, from what I've seen so far, is going to be AMAZING.

Oh, and I don't think it's possible based on how I set these up, but if it IS, please don't download or distribute these songs in any way.

Hope you guys enjoy these. Even if you don't, just know that a lot of Redskins love went into their creation.

Yeah, I do still have the guitar version. I'll put it up at some point, along with some of the other stuff if people are interested. There is also a "Nostalgia 2" that I'm still polishing up a bit.

As for the U2-hate, hey, I can understand. They are not at all to me today what they were to me in the 80s. But it's not like the track features Bono or anything. :)

Nice job on the tunes. I am a musician myself and can really appreciate the time & effort that went in to writing, performing and recording those tracks. What an honor it is to do be able to do that for one of our favorite things in the whole world... the Redskins. I can't wait to see and hear the final product!

If you ever need any additional tunes. ideas or would like to collaborate on a tune down the road let me know. I would love to contribute anything to the Skins.

No, it's all being done IN-HOUSE, which as far as I know is a FIRST for any NFL team. They conducted all new interviews with tons of Redskins greats, and it's just shaping up to be really, really good. If you liked the "America's Game" stuff, you should really love this. I'm actually working right now on editing a bunch of 30-second spots that will air on local tv here. Each one will feature a very brief look at one of the "greatest moments."

Cool music. I prefer the Defense tune and can easily see it being a great background for Skins defensive clips.
