With Patterson pitching, too. This season's gonna be ugly.

Yeah, this could be ugly. Hopefully, the building process will show sometime this year.

Yeah I'm hopeful. But I'll take a terrible season if it stands for something and is the start of something really great here.

I was never convinced of John Patterson being a staff ace, only on the Nats woudl he be an ace. On most teams, Patterson woudl be a third starter, maybe some a second starter.

I am looking forward to tomorrow. I have higher hopes for Shawn Hill.

I heard Manny Acta on the radio specifically saying Patterson wasn't their "ace", rather that he was their "best pitcher." Acta said that an ace is a 20-game-winning workhorse that you can depend on to win. I think Patterson is a good pitcher, but I wouldn't call him an ace either.

The Patterson of 05 and 06 before the injury is a good 2(a) imo. The question is of course how he rebounds.
