And no I am not going to find Jesse Lumsden (cue Spicy joke about him being in my basement).
I am best man in a wedding and for a Bachelor party five of us decided it would be fun to drive to Canada for the weekend. Specifically Niaga Falls Ontario.
So we travel next weekend. We are going to stay near the Casino so that is already on the to-do list.
Any other places of interest those of you can recomend. If you want you can pm me some points of interst, espescially the local "culture" spots.
And no I am not going to the Jesse Lumsden hall of fame museum.

I don't think there are any "cultural" spots on the canadian side. 5 dudes hitting Niagra Falls does sound a little strange though, why not road trip to AC?

I don't know much about that area so I can't help sadly. I did used to have a girlfriend from up there. We met over summer vacation. You wouldn't know her.

We are driving and don't need a passport for the border crossing yet, though most of our party does have it. We also have our certified birth certificates which are required if you don't have a passport. it's only if you fly do you need a passport. I have been checking this out frequently and have made several phone calls to border patrol, homeland security, and friends in Buffalo who gov over the border frequently. We SHOULD be fine.
Then again if I am not posting on Monday the 16th then I got detained lol.

They're draft dodging. Only it's 20 years too late. And there's no draft anymore, lol.

We are closer to Canada and it has been a running joke for the last four marriages in our group that we would go over the border./ This is the last of our friends to take the plunge so we are doing it.
And by "culture" I mean places of depravity.

When you clear customs and they ask you if your trip is "business or pleasure", make sure you say "You know, I'm not sure. How would you classify 'terrorist attack'. I'm thinking it's a little of both. Mostly business, though." ;)

When your comming back over, they'll ask if you have anything to declare, I always declare that I had a good time!

Don't play roulette at Casino Niagra. They use the lightest ball in the known gambling world and it bounces all over the damn wheel. I know, deep down inside, that it doesn't really matter...but after you see the ball bounce out of your favorite number into a non-winning number, you get pissed. Plus, the damn thing was constantly bouncing off the wheel onto the carpet at times. Too shady for me.
PLUS, drinks are not complimentary at Canadian casinos. They have signs saying so on the tables. Some country law or something. It really sucks. HOWEVER, the beer over there has more alchohol content...so make sure to get the "real" Labatts Blue. ;)
We went to two separate "culture spots" in Niagra. I forget the names, but they were right next door to each other. If looking at them from across the streeet...go to the one facing your right. The nice thing about Canada is that you feel as if the lap dances are discounted since $20 Canadian is about $16 US. (Or at least it was a few years ago)

Be careful, since Canada only has 1 road, bad things can happen on it.

Do NOT declare that you're homosexual. For a country that produces such fine comedians, they don't have a very good sense of humor.

I have a guaranteed way to make money at the casino in Niagra Falls.

Because, of all places and times, you would have chosen that specific time to come out of the closet. Only that's not what they're asking. They're asking about fruit and stuff.
There was whole show based on this kind of miscommunication (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three's_Company). I suggest you check it out.

Oh do tell.
If we spend a lot of time in the Casino it will be at the poker tables, not the table games. I suck at all table games...poker on the other hand I only mildly suck at.

You should have gone with me to Foxwoods. We had a grand ol' time. I bet they have $60 buy in table tourneys up in Niagra too. You should definitely do that.

Last time I was there, the casino had a different exchange rate than the exchange rate offered at the border crossing, you could literally make money by walking back and forth between the casino and border and constantly exchange money.

that would be something I woould be all over. Sit and gos are a specialty of mine. Longer tournaments and I get pooped out, though I won a few in my hey days. I ahave been a horrible poker player for a year or so since I cant play online anymore.

*Zing* You are on fire today, BNG!
Those $60 tourneys can be draining. I placed 7th out of 87 (or something like that) at the Showboat/House of Blues Poker Room in AC in February and I played for 5 hours or so. That is a lot of time to invest...and the payout wasn't even that great.
BTW - I've played poker with Dustin and he is a very good player. He didn't end up beating me...*cough* *cough* but he is very good. lol :)

HEY watch it people, Hubbo is from Buffalo...I should get the rolling pin out buddy....
j/k he couldn't wait to escape....we go up about once a year, his sister lives in Niagara Falls. Can't help you with all of the depraved places because we mostly sit around on the porch listening to the screeching of the cats with their tails caught in the door (aka...Buffalo women having a conversation....j/k Gina!)
Anyway have fun!

My friend's brother went to Canada with some buddies to see the Bruins play the Montreal Canadiens. At the border, the Canadian border guard asks them the purpose of their visit, and dummy says "We're here to watch the Bruins kick the Canadiens' ass." The guard makes them pull over. He takes them into the office, empties their luggage onto the floor, and says, "O.K., you can go now." I hope they learned their lesson, eh? :D
