I am going to get a new gaming system, but I can not decide between the 360 or Wii. PS3 is too expensive.
I think I would enjoy the 360 due to its lineup of sports games (EA sports). Wii only has Madden and Tiger Woods for now. Does anyone know if EA sports is going to release their full linup of games on the Wii? Also, I am concerned about hardware problems on the 360. Can anyone give me any personal experiences thay have had regarding overheating or any other hardware problems.
As far as the Wii, if I can find one in stock, I like the new remote, but I wonder if the novelty of it will wear off. I guess you can plug in gamecube contollers and play your games the traditional way as well. Is this true?

Any opinions or suggesstions are appreciated.

The wii is alot of fun but the sports games except for tiger woods arent all that. I have the 360 and have not had any problems with it, I bought the intercooler for it just incase of any over heating problems and have had none. But the key to the 360 is you need to have an hdtv to get the real feel for the graphics. The wiis graphics arent all that, but makes up for it with the new style of play. for 250 I plan on getting a wii but are imposible to find at least around me. My friends have the the wii and love it, Ive played it over at their house and its alot of fun. But I love my sports games so I still like the 360 more, and the graphics are just as good as the ps3, which I was not impressed at all with, especailly for the money.

Go for a Sega Genesis.

No really, I have both the Wii and 360. I hardly play the Wii now ( and a few of my friends have both and mainly play the 360 now). Not as many game for the Wii yet, but some are coming out like Super smash brothers, Metroid, Mario. To me graphic are really lacking on the Wii especially since i have an HDTV. The Wii is all about the controller and if a game is programed properly it could be really good asset. but if not it is a pain. I also find sometimes when you start out the game you really get into it with the remote, but sometime end up just flicking your wrist. IMO if you do that might as well use a traditional controller. The 360 online is better support than the Wii right now.

And yes for the Wii you can plug in a Gamecube controller to the top and use it to play GC games that work in the same system or use it to control older games you can download from online.

Personally I perfer the 360 as someone that has both.

edit: also I know it costs more moeny but if you go with the 360 look into getting the elite. HDMI suppost that may or maynot help you, but the 120 gig hard drive should be worth the extra cost.

Thanks for the advice. I went with the 360. I have Gears of War, Oblivion, Tom Clancy Rainbox Six Vegas, and BLitz the League.

Oblivion is ok. I became a vampire and it is by far the most annoying thing in the world. There is a cure though.

I am happy with the 360. I have read a lot of stories about 360's breaking down. I got a warranty and everything seems to be working fine so far.

My 360 had a lot of problems when I first got it. Knock on wood, I haven't had any problems with it in about a year. I guess the problem was lying within the games I was playing.

I'm on my third 360 actually. But the warrenty service has been good, and I haven't had to pay for any repairs. Even with my troubles I still lean toward the 360 over Wii or PS3. I enjoy the Wii when lots of people are playing, but it's not really something I like playing by myself. PS3 and its lack of a so-called "killer app" is like having a beautiful luxury car without anyplace to go.

Get the 360 Elite. The 120GB harddrive is sick.

I have had no issues with my 360 at all. It is great and the online play is the best that's out there. I do plan on getting a Wii.

I have a 360 and a Wii. I love both of them (for different things). I highly recommend either.

I, personally, don't like the idea of having to move too much physically when I play my games. It sounds lazy, but I train for a triathlon and lift and have two small kids to chase after so when I want to just relax and play a game, I want to just sit down and play it. If I wanted to simulate the movement required for throwing a football or boxing, I'll go throw a football or go box. That's just me though.

Its final. I am dropping the PS2 and getting the 360. It seems they are moving in the right direction and Sony is not.
