I was listening to sports radio up here in Redskins Country (Baltimore:D)....and the natives are truly getting restless. There were several calls into the station from Ravens fans, complaining (again.........it's always something) about the Sports Illustrated poll. Apparently, SI is celebrating their 50 year anniversary by looking at a State in America every week. Recently, they featured the BEST STATE IN THE COUNTRY (Maryland, of course:p).

Anyway, what they are doing is "polling" state residents about sports (asking several questions related to sports). One of the questions is: What is your favorite NFL football team? The results were (according to the radio station......I haven't seen that issue of SI):

1. The Washington Redskins-- 27% :p
2. The Baltimore Ravens-- 25% :D
3. The Dallas Cowboys (WHAT:mad:)--6%

Has anyone seen the "Maryland" State issue?? Many Ravens fans swore that the numbers were "slanted" towards PG & Montgomery Co. residents. I too had a problem with the numbers. I thought that the gap between us (Redskins) and them (Ravens), SHOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH LARGER (knowing what I know). What do you guys think????

****On another cool note, I rushed to the stand to get the "Maryland" issue.........and they were already on Pennsylvania. In "polling" their residents with regard to favorite football teams, the voting went as follows.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers
2. Philadelphia Eagles
3. WASHINGTON REDSKINS.......How cool is that???

I'm sure that the Redskins will "win" the polls for D.C. and Virginia. THEY BETTER!!!!!!!!!!

I actually just saw that issue (Maryland) at the grocery store about an hour ago, but I didn't pick it up because I get SI delivered and didn't think that it contained anything different from the issue that I got in the mail yesterday.

It also said something about Lacrosse and the Eastern Shore (I think), so I didn't even look at it.

I'd like to see WV, it would probably be a total crapshoot...honestly I think Dallas would win...

Those Baltimore people get upset about everything. They got upset with an announcer who stated we had the oldest band in the league. They thought they were. They were wrong. They started in 1947 and we started in 1937.

You are ABSOLUTELY right. They (Baltimorians) seem to get upset about (nearly) everything. They were pissed off about a month ago when they found out that WE are opening the NFL season. They were crying foul that we had "nationally televised games" (MNF.....although it is on a Thursday) and THEY didn't (although we had the same 7-9 record last year). They were ALSO pissed off at the NFL office for "always having to play the Redskins at Fed Ex".............and yet they maintain that there is no "municipal inferiority complex"....................yeah, right.

How silly for them to be upset. PG and Montgomery have more people that Baltimore City & County perhaps thats why it was slanted that way......

Bfauble, I went to WVU (for 3 years) and I must say in that part of the state, it's all about the Stillers
