View Full Version : Funny thing about Watson

Well, maybe not so funny. Just a couple of weeks ago we were all talking about how he would be cut because there was no way the skins would keep four rbs. Then the talk was the skins would keep all four of them after all. Then all of the sudden the sultan of rbs comes into the picture and BAM!! Watson is cut after all. Weird for us but I guess normal for the NFL.

Very interesting take, and one that I was thinking of earlier myself.

What happens if Sultan is not for real? I still think that if we were going to cut a RB, we should have cut Betts.

I agree, Watson seemed to be the most consistent of our backs IMO.

I seriously doubt McCullough will be active on gamedays. He is one step above the PS at this point. He has a tremendous upside, coupled with a penchant for fumbling as demonstrated in the preseason. Keeping him on the 53 was to preclude some team from signing him to the PS. Unless someone gets hurt, it is unlikely he will see action this year other than ST's.

Betts running style is what got him kept over Watson... we didnt need another Trung guy... we need a strong 3rd down back (Betts)...

As much as I love Sultan, he is un-proven (but has "potential"), whereas Watson has PROVED himself on the NFL level.

Yes, he has. Betts has shown me nothing that Watson didn't do himself. Him being a 2nd round pick is the only difference I have seen so far. Watson is gone, I don't like it but it's time to move on.

Sultan has more of an upswing in the system in place. Yes, some may not liek Spurrier or his system, but system wise, he Sultan has better credentials.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say he has better credentials. He hasn't started in a game yet. What credentials are you referring to?
