The Chargers are prepared to trade running back Michael Turner in the near future after receiving an acceptable contract offer from another team, ESPN reported on Friday.
According to the report, an unidentified team has offered the Chargers a first-round pick in the 2008 draft, and San Diego is willing to accept the deal.
The Titans, Bills and Packers are among the teams who’ve expressed an interest in Turner, although San Diego General Manager A.J. Smith has said other teams are also interested.
If true, i wonder what we could get for Betts. I dont think Turner will be as good as some might think in a starting role.

I heard the same on Sirius NFL radio. If this is true and the partner is either Buffalo or GB, there's no reason we couldn't get a 2nd for Betts from the other. The only prob is that we don't have a 3rd/4th round pick to replace Betts with.

I heard today that the Bills have been eliminated from the Turner sweepstakes. Right after that, they said Greenbay and some other team. I can't remember the other team. But it will not be the Bills.

yeah, and it doesn't hurt that Turner played on a winning team. even though it shouldn't matter, it does. Plus it looks better when Turner runs well after giving a RB like TA a breather. When turner comes in and runs well, there doesn't seem to be much of a dropoff.

at least turner does not have a tendency to cough up costly fumbles.. and i do not think he has the kind of injury history that betts has
that said, i do not see him becoming an elite back either.. maybe like lamont jordan he is productive ??
