" "So what are they up to? Will they be trolling the waiver wire for a No. 2 or a No. 3?
Or a No. 1?
We know, we know -- Patrick Ramsey is the unquestioned starter. But given that the 'Skins were one of the few teams interested in talking trade for Jags signal-caller Mark Brunell, our guess is that something is going on."

Makes you wonder just a little why the only have two QB's on the roster . . . are they looking to get Brunell?

I would not be surprised if we go after him if he is cut

Thats what i was saying in an earlier post and i'm not so sure with Dan pulling the strings this is farfetched.we arent going to resign Bailey anyway from the sound of it so we would have the room. And i think Mark would be an awsome pick up i'm afraid Ramsey's not as far along as we need him to be or we surely wouldnt need Woeful as a backup.

Ramsey's not as far along as we'd like, so we go after someone who'd have to learn the entire system in four days if we got him right now?
No, I'm sorry, I just can't buy this.

Well, Brunell was named started in Jacksonville by Del Rio the other day, so there are no worries about him stepping in. I really doubt that Snyder would go out and get someone to challenge for the number one at this point, especially since Jeff George has retired.

We cant afford Brunel anyway... big waste of money for an old man.

I doubt were really going to grt Bruenell and you're right he couldn't just waltz in and know the system but he could very well be here what he's been for them a solid playoff caliber starter.Start Ramsey but if he were to falter i'd rather have Bruenell on the sidelines. He's no Jeff Georgelooking over Brad's shoulder. He's a legitamate starter that after learning this system i think would excel, also giving ramsey competiton and the better man would win.I want Ram to do it,really i do.I don't think we should trade unless he'll restructure and only if we don't get taken to the cleaner's for it.I'm really speaking more from the standpoint of not feeling like Ramsey could use a little more time and a little less pressure. And i've always liked Bruenell and we have no depth, etc.

I think most of us are willing to live or die with Ramsey this year. Doesn't make any sense to bring in Brunell at the 11th hour for the reasons mentioned above : Spurrier's complex offense and $. Anyway, its not like our QB is the only questionable piece of a juggernaut here. Obviously, we don't know if we'll be able to run and eat up clock or stop the run and prevent the opponent from killing us in time of possession. Those are my biggest concerns.

I agree with everything stated above i guess i would just like to see a little more depth there because last ear that was supposedly the reason we went 7-9.If that has'nt improved and our schedule is tougher we are in trouble. As stated before i like Ramsey,he's the best looking young QB we have had in recent memory.I'm just concerned and i'm ok with doing anything short of changing our name to the cowboys and moving to Dallas to field a winner in the near future.

Give me Ramsey or give me death! I'll take my chances with what we have.

Speak for yourself... By week 4 you will all be crying for another QB

Despite the fact that a 7th round pick was used on Hamdan, he had no chance of stepping in under center and leading the Redskins to a victory this year, he just does not know enough about reading a defense and the art of being a QB. Draft pick or not, he was destined for the PS.
The decision to cut Wuerffel can best be described, IMO, as an attempt to improve the strength of ST's. Todd Franz and Orantes Grant both excel at ST's.
If we lose 2 QB's in the same game and have to get down to the emergency QB, then we have larger issues such as which OT got hurt and which backup is allowing DE's to kill our QB's.
Wuerffel will be out there if Ramsey gets hurt and Johnson has to play the following week. Highly unlikely he will be picked up by another team.
Yes the move is unorthodox, but maybe it will become popular if we have no issues with it.

Get O'Donnell to be the number 3.

The season hasn't even started and the "prognosticators" on this board are already bemoaning Ramsey as the starting QB..... could we get through at least Thrusday night Sept 4th?

Ramsey is the QB - end of discussion. To think he's not ready is BULLSH*T. IF by week four he's not having any sucess they my questions are going to be:
1. Why do we keep dropping passes?
2. Why can't we pass protect?
PROTECT HIM AND HE WILL PRODUCE - and RB won't even see any playing time.

The team has invested in Ramsey, he is the starter, and we will live or die with him. The importnat thing is, whether we die with him or win, we must show patience. We all know Ramsey has the tools and mechanics to be good, but mental development takes longer and needs to be nurtured through experience.
Do i think Snyder woudl have any interest in Brunnell? Nope. Ramsey was his draft choice, not Spurrier's.
