Damn that sucks! Just when I thought all we had to worry about missing time was Noble.
Oh well, atleast we have some type of depth at the pos.....

How has he looked this preseason? I take it he was going to be your #3, who steps up now? McCants?

Hard to say. I would personally insert McCants, but Johnson is the former track star, and knowing how Spurrier loves speed he would probably get the nod.
I would put Johnson in before Russell, that's for sure.

I agree, Johnson should be and probably will be the number 3 while Jacobs is out. I was hoping that Russell would prove himself in that #4 spot, but did nothing to stand out.

Russell needs so much work it's sick.
I think that McCants and Johnson will be rotated, depending on down and distance. I'd go with McCants but to put the sub 4.4 speed of Coles, Trung and Johnson at the same time is pretty tempting.
Maybe Jacobs should take some extra time to get healthy. He got nicked up in two preseason games and in college he had a lot of little nagging injuries.

That is what I thought about right away... hope this isnt the start of a habit in the NFL.

They'll probably rotate Johnson and McCants in and out in place of Jacobs unless one of them looks more proficient than the other during the game.

Yeah, I'd think McCants and Johnson could be rotated. Johnson would be in on first, second, and third-and-long situations, McCants would be there in the red zone and on third-and-short situations, if we had three WRs in.

Bring back Justin and put him at #3

At this point, I think either Johnson or McCants are more effective than Jacobs anyway.

I have to agree. I'm lost as to how he was automatically elevated to the #3 by many Skins fans, and coaches for that matter.

Yup...I think DMC will resume his role from last year; acting as a part time #3 wr....and swapping out with P. Johnson. Russell has done nothing to convince us he can play big-time ball yet. WE will see, I guess, in 4/5 WR packages.

Ever landed on someones cleats in a football game? It sucks. I landed on a pair in the small of my back in 1987 and I have problems with it to this day.

Looks like the leatest is Jacobs will most likely be back for Atlanta. I guess I saw in some article anyway that Spurrier moved Patrick Johnson over Jacobs anyway, as the number three WR.

Really? Wow, that's very surprising.

From the Post:
Jacobs, a University of Florida product, was the Redskins' second-round draft choice in April and was slated to open the season as the No. 3 wideout behind Laveranues Coles and Rod Gardner. Now he is headed to the game-day inactive list while fellow wide receivers Coles, Gardner, Patrick Johnson, Darnerien McCants and Cliff Russell suit up for the opener. Johnson and McCants will split the third-receiver duties, Spurrier said.
Confirms what most of us have been saying.

I thought PJ earned the 3rd spot and MaCants behind PJ. I think it will be better for Jacobs and the Skins for him to work his way into more playing time as the season goes on.
