A recent Newsweek poll showing Democrat Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) leading top Republican presidential hopefuls could have been made up and might help al-Qaida, conservative commentator Ann Coulter said in her latest verbal broadside.
Coulter, a best-selling author known for outrageous and often controversial statements, was asked Sunday on Fox News' "At Large" what she thought about the survey results.
"I think this is Newsweek doing more push polling for al-Qaida," she said, referring to campaign-season telephone calls to voters masquerading as neutral surveys but designed to build opposition to targeted candidates.
Asked by host Geraldo Rivera whether she thought Newsweek would make up the results, Coulter said, "Yes, I do," adding, "In polls where people are actually allowed to vote, Republicans do a lot better."
Coulter did not explain how the poll might help the terrorist group. Since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, some Republicans have argued that their party would do a better job of protecting the U.S. against terrorism than Democrats.
Coulter's remark drew a response from Evans Witt, chief executive officer of Princeton Survey Research Associates International, which conducted the Newsweek survey.
"As the 2008 election campaign continues to heat up, I am sure that there will be informed and incisive criticisms of polls from many observers," he said. Coulter's comments "do not fit into this category," he added.

This is pretty mild by her standards. [Speaking of standards, Fox News clearly has none if they're still booking her as a guest.] The real fireworks will come if Obama wins the nomination. There is NO WAY she can get thru a general election with a black Democrat without dropping the N-word at least half a dozen times. And when she does blow her top, Fox will have to reduce her appearances to once a week.

i'd really like to know what she's like in real life. i just can't believe she's this crazy. i'd like to say more about her, but since i can't use the word c...ensored by spence, i'll have to keep quietAccording to people I know she just amps her personality up a bit for the media, but this is really how she is. She hates Democrats, really thinks they are all traitors. While she makes a big deal out of Christianity and moral values, I know she does not attend church. About a dozen people of all political stripes have told me she does illegal drugs [but is not addicted to any] and is not exactly the church lady when it comes to sex. I'm told rumors of homosexuality [which I ascribe entirely to her age and the fact that she's never been married] are completely false. She likes sex with dudes. Apparently, a few dudes like sex with her. For myself, I'd be turned off by the adam's apple, but that's a personal tic of mine.
Basically, I think all the 'kill Democrats, drink the blood of foreign children, atomize 90% of the world's surface' is not that far from her real personality. The moral values stuff is what she believes in, but does not actually practice herself.

I wish there was an Ann Coulter-Keith Olbermann news hour. They could just go koo-koo-bananas at each other under the careful surpervision of mental health professionals. CBS should fire Katie and hire them.

I guess to be an expert on FOX you have to be in touch with your "truthiness." It doesn't matter if the poll in factual; it only matters how she "feels" about it.
And I love this guy's responce to Coulter!
"As the 2008 election campaign continues to heat up, I am sure that there will be informed and incisive criticisms of polls from many observers," he said. Coulter's comments "do not fit into this category," he added.

I always tell people not to use words like 'hate' and 'evil' about people you don't personally know but i make an exception in her case. she has abrogated her right (privilege) to be on television (even Fox) becuase she has been proven to be a Republican whore (not a sexual term). She will do or say anything for the party and Bush and it has become desctructive to our national discussion (even more so than others like Limbaugh) that she should be vountarily banned from all media outlets.
I understand the thirst for ratings (and I don't mean to single out conservatives here but hey, idiots live where idiots live) but some moral comopass needs to be applied. I think if you call Bush's service in the National Guard 'heroic' you should shut up forever. That is my personal litmus test.

no.. the best thing is to give fools like that a full airing.. repressing them
only gives credence to their claims of being discriminated against

Yes, i see your point Shally but her vitriol is so poisonous that I wonder if that value is not offset by the damage she does. At this point it is like putting a Klansmen or Neo-Nazi on the air. You know what they are going to say and you hope people laugh or get disgusted but you worry that some will agree, you know?
