View Full Version : What do you think our record is going to be this season?

---------------------
Week 1: New York Jets
---------------------
The Jets will be a tough opponent.. The loss of Pennington is not as big as some would think. Vinny is still a seasoned vet and can pick apart any defense on any given Sunday. However, the Redskins defense will hold their ground, and Coles will score his first touchdown in the Burgundy & Gold as the Redskins roll on to a 1-0 start.

Score: Redskins W 24-10
Record: 1-0

---------------------
Week 2: at Atlanta
---------------------
No longer do the Falcons look so intimidating....WRONG! Still with Peerless Price, Dunn, and Johnson, their offense looks only a notch less then with Vick at the helm. They will not roll up, they will not just go away. Sure, they won't win as much but they will not be an easy win. As a matter of fact they could not be a win at all. However, Vick or no Vick, our defense will shine in this one. Bailey(probably playing for his contract) will have a pick in this one, and help push the Skins to a 2-0 start!

Score: Redskins W 17-14
Record: 2-0

---------------------
Week 3: New York Giants
---------------------
So far, the Skins are riding high. 2-0 on the season, but don't expect them to get high on that and forget the rest of the season. The Giants look good, but Shockey will not be as big in this one as some think. Bowen will probably be assigned to lay some hits on him all day. Ramsey to Coles & Gardner will run wild in this one. Rams will throw at least 2Tds and Canidate will run for at least one more. as the Redskins take another one in the early season.

Score: Redskins W 28-17
Record: 3-0

---------------------
Week 4: New England
---------------------
This game will be the high point of the season. The 'Skins will come in 3-0, and the Patriots should come in the same. Someone will have to give, and the Patriots will be the ones to give. Their offense will be no match to our pass defense, and by this point in the season, A Interior lineman will have stepped up at Run Stuffer. The Skins offense will be tested against the Pats in this one, but will squeak out on top.

Score: Redskins W 10-7
Record: 4-0

---------------------
Week 5: at Philadelphia
---------------------
As I said week 4 would be the initial High of the season. The skins will fight hard in this one, however they will not be able to take it. Not in Philly. They will taste defeat for the first, but not the last time in this season. As Philly is unrelentless at home.

Score: Redskins L 10-28
Record: 4-1

---------------------
Week 6: Tampa Bay
---------------------
On the road to repeat. The Bucs look better then last year, and this one will be no easy task. The Redskins offense will put up a good fight against a tough defense, Unfortunatly so will the Bucs offense. The Bucs take this one in a close game.

Score: Redskins L 24-28
Record: 4-2

---------------------
Week 7: at Buffalo
---------------------
This years potential AFC East champs will be a tough shot in their home stadium. To tough for this young team. Bledsoe will lead the Bills to a victory in this Super Bowl rematch.

Score: Redskins L 10-14
Record: 4-3

---------------------
Week 8: BYE WEEK
---------------------
Whew. We made it to the Bye Week! And with a winning record. Hopefully barring major injuries, We are now playoff bound.

---------------------
Week 9: at Dallas
---------------------
This one will not be a pushover as the Tuna will make his team tough. However not tough to beat. With no offense and No running game, the Skins defense will have a fairly simple day and stay pumped up. Unlike last year, we will have an offense that will not rollover as they did in Thanksgiving last year. However, with a pair of formidable DBs, the cowboys will not be a pushover through the air. Watch the running game get a little workout in this one as the Redskins break a 3 grame losing streak.

Score: Redskins W 35-10
Record: 5-3

---------------------
Week 10: Seattle
---------------------
Seattle will look a lot better as a sleeper team this year. Hasselback had a strong ending to his season last year and will be a formidable opponent. However, the Redskins will prevail with good defense in this one. The 'Skins take their 6th victory of the year and improve to 6-3

Score: Redskins W 28-14
Record: 6-3

---------------------
Week 11: at Carolina
---------------------
Stephen Davis will meet his former team again in this one. However, the regular season will be alot different then the preseason. Davis will have a good game, but Ramsey a better one. The defense will hold whichever QB is playing to nothing in the aire as we roll to yet another victory.

Score: Redskins W 17-6
Record: 7-3

---------------------
Week 12: at Miami
---------------------
Miami, on their way to the playoffs, will find the weakenesses in our team and exploit in this one. I just don't see a W outta this one in Miami. Washington can't hang on in this one, though it will be close.

Score: Redskins L 31-35
Record: 7-4

---------------------
Week 13: New Orleans
---------------------
New Orleans squeaks out this one after a kickers duel. The Saints score the only touchdown in the game late in the 4th quarter for this win.

Score: Redskins L 9-16
Record: 7-5

---------------------
Week 14: at New York Giants
---------------------
New York deals the 'Skins their third straight loss. Shockey and the Giants will outmatch the Redskins defense in New York. Without the hometown, the Skins will not have the same spark as in Fedex and will fall in this one.

Score: Redskins L 28-14
Record: 7-6

---------------------
Week 15: Dallas
---------------------
Many fans screamed Split in this season. However the Big Tuna is going to find out just like Mr. Spurrier did last year. Doesn't matter how good a coach you are, you gotta have some players to back it up. This one isn't even a contest as the 'Skins high powered offense walks over the Cowpokes.

Score: Redskins W 42-10
Record: 8-6

---------------------
Week 16: at Chicago
---------------------
Kordell will not be the Bears answer. They will not repeat their Cinderella year until they get some talent. Washington wins at Soldier Field on a very cold, snowy day.

Score: Redskins W 17-10
Record: 9-6
---------------------
Week 17: Philadelphia
---------------------
With the Eagles no doubt on the hinges for another NFC East Championship and running right along with the Giants and Redskins this game could mean alot. Perfect job by the schedulers. This one will lock up quickly and be a tight one down the strecth. This will be more then likely a high scoring OT game. However the 'Skins prevail on a 45+ yard TD pass from Ramsey to Gardner(Gardner? Yes Gardner) for the game winner!(OK so maybe the ending is just a perfect ending but hey!)

Score: Redskins W 28-14
Record: 10-6

---------------------

That's it, my regular season. I think most people are going to think it's fiction, but I truly think it's very possible. If our offense and defense play to their potential, we could very well see this type of season....

Hate to say it, but I think another 7-9 season is in the offing. Looks like a tougher schedule, OT may be worse than last year, sense I'm in the minority when I say our RBs are not even average, worry that what could have been a killer D is going to be even softer up the middle than last year. About the only places I see obvious improvement are WR and P/KR, and hopefully K. Is it enough? Hope so but skeptical.

Also, I think Spurrier blows. If we don't win early (c'mon original poster, does anyone really think we'll start 4-0?) he'll screw up the QB situation again

Heck, I'm a 'Skins fan, love to gripe!

Did it game-by-game two days ago. 9-7.

Also, Jporter, I'm mystified as to why a game against New Orleans would be a kickers' duel.

I origionally said 9-7 and i'll stand by that, but if we dont cut down on the stupid penalties and Ramsey doesn't show great improvement then with this schedule we will be 7-9 or wose easily.

Hard to figure better than 9-7 unless Ramsey really catches fire. The Skins don't look so good to me right now. Very average.

I got us a 9-7, or 10-6 only because I don't know much about Settle or Chicago right now.

7-9 I hate to be a pessimist but the schedule is loaded with very tough teams and I see VERY few gimmie games and they are at the end of the year when the team will be worn down.

I think we go 9-7. I can see 10-6 but I feel 9-7 is more realistic.

I am going 8-8 and have all offseason, becuase until I see different from this team it is all we have done lately. Did our improved offense improve enough to make up for the dline. I think so, but Ramsey and Trung are still concerns for me. Ram moreso as Betts can fill in nicely

Last year we lost three games by 7 pts or less but two of them were against the Giants. This year we are at LEAST a touchdown better.
10-6 was my first though but don't think we'll sweep the Giant............. 9-7.

REDMAN

I think we will win some of the games that look impossible to win. 10-6.

I say 10-6,...is doable....8-8 is expected....anything below that is a disapointment for what Dano has assembled.[IMG]

I have high hopes this year. I have a lot of faith in Ramsey. I think 10-6 is very possible. But mostly I hope Washington does better than the Vikings, or I'll be in big trouble out here.
