well... i would have liked it either way...
It makes the Bills that much tougher...
the link is the only info i've seen on it. ESPN and others won't until the deal is inked... but the link says it's a done deal.

ESPN just said it isn't official. C'mon Snyder do something!!! I DO NOT wanna loose out on this guy. SC is usually the first to know anything, even if it's a verbal agreement. Damn I was getting that tingly feeling for the first time since we won in Philly with Marty and now it's gonna be taken away. I'm on Sportscenter like Britteny on Madonna so I'll keep everyone informed.

It's not official. I won't believe that site until a more reliable source like espn confirms it.
Big Country, If we don't get Milloy, then I hope you guys get him because we're better off with him out of the AFC. :D

Billsreport? Isn't that a fan site?
Ok Danny time go Randy Thomas and Dave Fiore on these people. Drink some coffee and get to work because I have a terrible feeling we're gonna loose. Next mourning could be very painfull if Snyder doesn't get assertive like only he knows how.
Ok this site is just like ours. Just like Mark couldn't give out or recieve certain info, this site should be the same, unless they're very very well connected. This is the first place I've seen this report, SC included. I've never seen a case where a fans site is on top of something before ESPN. Nothing in the nytimes either.
This stinks. ESPN said the Bills offered a contract and the Saints and Skins are interested. The Bills will not outbid us but we have to bid first. Maybe it's not too late.

Mark Maske reports that are serveral team that have interest and are making offers. Front runner being Buffalo, New Orleans, Washington. Also Detroit, Minnesota, SanDiego are expressing interest but have fallen behind in the bidding. Washington has apparently made an offer of at least 5 million over two years.

Who knows. A fansite that knows more then ESPN has scrambled my brains from any way to rationalize this. Hell I think they said the agent talked to them.

Still no confirmation?
this is what the link says
" The agent for now the hottest new free agent Lawyer Milloy Carl Poston has stated that a decision will be reached by Wednesday morning. We have reported that a verbal agreement has been reached from league sources and this is accurate according to these sources. Lawyer Milloy requested his release and should be in Bills uniform starting game one at free safety. He should be arriving in Buffalo very soon to sign his contract!"

Vinny Cerrato was on Mike and Mike this morning and said their involvement consisted of simply asking Milloy's agent "how much money is involved". He went on to say that the Skins need to be carefull, as most of their money is tied up, and he wasn't sure if Milloy would be affordable.

why is it we are never content to let our young guys have a shot? Do we really need to wrap a lot of money in this guy? If we want any chance to resign Champ( I am starting to think we won't) we need to stay away from this type of deals. I would love to have him but at what costs

We dont need him - too much money and he has lost a few steps. Read in the Boston Globe he was ran down and caught from behind in last years final game by Jay Fiedler.

From my vntage point, I think that Champ is a gonner anyways. From what I've read, I'm almost glad for it. Hopefully we can get a good chunk o'something for him. I think it would be a good idea to bring in malloy. Even if he has lost a step, he is still one of the best at his position. Also, concerning Champ, the team has been put together to last 3 years before the salary cap becomes an issue. Welll, we can keep champ this year and next. so that leaves one more year before the roster would have to take some dismnatling anyways, right? hopefully Smoot will stepu up a little and there should be a few solid db's in the 2005 draft. Hey champ is one of my fav's, but he's really rubed me the wrong way during these"negotiations!"

Just looking to see what news you have about Milloy. Still looks like it is a three way jump ball. Donahoe with the Bills is'nt sounding as sure as his fans would like.

Bills on hold with Lawyer Milloy
By Leo Roth
Staff writer
(September 3, 2003) — The Buffalo Bills have made a contract offer to safety Lawyer Milloy, who was cut Tuesday in a salary cap move by the New England Patriots, but Bills President Tom Donahoe says he needs a decision by today so the team can focus on Sunday’s opener against the Patriots.
The Bills, Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints are considered the top contenders for Milloy’s services. The Redskins have reportedly offered a two-year contract worth $5 million a year, while the Saints reportedly offered a three-year deal for an undisclosed sum.
“ We’re kind of in a holding pattern on this,” Donahoe said. “ But we’ve been told we’re one of the teams that Lawyer is seriously looking at.”
Donahoe added that he doesn’t think money will be the sole determining factor for Milloy, a four-time Pro Bowl selection.
