Skinzaholic's Plea:

Every friday morning I have breakfast with a bunch of guys... and since I live in Harrisburg, PA, it seems that a majority of those guys are puke green Eagles fans... they constantly have something to laugh about at the Redskins expense... and last year my eggs tasted so bad after a Sunday loss (especially to the Eagles).

This year they are all convinced that the Jets are gonna beat us... and they have made a point of saying it loudly. They laugh, the spit, that crack dumb Snyder jokes... and I sit and smile my fake smile.

So my plea is formal and documented... it is bad enough losing on Sunday (and then facing the music that friday)... but to lose THURSDAY NIGHT? Im afraid I couldnt live through that one.

Please guys... pull this one out for me.

I know what you mean!!! I've been getting too much SH-- from people over the skins and my optimism. If they suck this year, that's it, I will never believe in them again. We have too much talent to be crappy!
If we lose to the Jets, our season will not be a good one!

Skinz, that is a tragic story. I know that you're supposed to be a good Christian and turn the other cheek when abused, but this is too much. If the Skins win, you MUST gloat about it. Please. Gloat long and gloat hard. After all, I don't think Christian charity applies to Eagles fans, does it? Surely not.

I have also had to endure an unfair amount of crap for losing to all the teams in our division last year .(with the exeption of the 1 win vs dallas.)

Truthfully... the Bible DOES speak of "Righteous Indignation"... and that will be my defense... Rest assured Spence my man that I will jump up on that looooong table right there in the restaurant and do the fun bunch alone, should we overcome!

Yeah, but you know as well as I do that they will say "it's just the jets, they didn't even have pennington".
ESPECIALLY since they are Eagles fans. We need to beat the eagles for skins to gloat. coming in first would be A GREAT way of getting backat them!

I personally don't think the Eagles will have much to gloat about after the end of this week. They won't be able to say the Redskins lost....or they won. Too bad for them I suppose.

It's tough when they don't know what the hell they're talking about. Or do they? I just presumed that they are not as knowledgable as you on the topic of football.

Shoot man ive been taking crap about the skins just like you guys now for ,oh let me see.................. the last friggin 12 years or so!
I defended Schuler,Ferrotte,Green,Johnson,(not George-had to draw the line there)Norv,Marty, and so on and so on.And you know what i'm going to pull for SS and Ramsey and Trung and i still (maybe naively)believe and if we suck this year then come Febuary i'll tell you the same thing i always say."This"is our year,"these" offseason moves are exactly what we needed and we "will" have a winning season. If nothing else i have faith even when my patience has run thin a decade ago.

The Eagles only have three 'successful' seasons under their belt. They were the laughing stock of the NFC East. They have not won any SBs, though. Neither have we in the past 3 seasons. It doesn't make any difference how far you get unless you win a Lombardi Trophy.

It does make a difference to the fans though. A playoff appearance for us is vindication we are headed in the right direction...cause so help me, we don't make the playffs this year, I'll be calling for Spurrier's head on a platter!!!

well...he has proven himself to take 2 years, 3 max to turn a team around. This is his second year, but he made a lot of DUMB mistakes last year. He needs to have a playoff year this year to call off the hounds.
If he produces another 7-9, or 8-8 season, it's time to fire his ass!

tell your friends to make sure they dont choke on their eggs like the eagles choke in the playoffs!! they end up in the same spot the skins are in every january, the couch!

btw, we do need to win tomorrow! we will have to deal with all the hecklers until sunday!

That's interesting, given that we have the sixth hardest schedule in football. I'd give the guy one more year before wanting any served heads. That's how a lot of teams have done it as of late, especially the Rams.

We should not only serve his head, we should severe it. Stop giving him excuses. He used all of his breaks last year.

Here we have an offensive master mind, with a team full of potential pro bowlers, and he had one of the owrst offenses in the league. TERRIBLE. It's a DAMN good thing defensive god Lewis was with us, or we would have been 4-12!
You know as well as I do, that the "schedule" changes from year to year, and we have the 6th hardest from LAST YEARS results. Every team is different, and parody is among us.
Who among us doesn't think we have the talent to win 9-10 games and SHOULD be in the playoffs? Not a one. We know we are immensly talented...we're more talented than the majority of the teams that made the playoffs last year, but we underachieve. Spurrier was one of the MAIN factors we underachieved last year. I gave him his first year, and chalked it up to "rookie mistakes". Now there is no excuse.
Massively talented team
Offensive minded coach
great defense
owner willing to spend buukoos of money
best fans supporting them
revamped offensive line and special teams (problem areas last year)
ALL THIS SHOULD EQUAL NOTHING BUT PLAYOFF BERTH.

It's not like this guy took over the bengals.

What beauty! I didnt walk in with a big chip on my shoulder... just acted non-chalaunt and camly rubbed their noses in it.

(Then I jumped up onto the dining table... kicked all the glasses of water to the floor... then began to loudly sing Hail to the Redskins!)
