i cant vote yet as i do not know any of these guys.. what ecker has going for him is that he is a draft pick, even though it is a low one.. still, i dont think that is enough right now to say..

I saw Eker on a Redskins.com vid working with Brunell and he looked decent. We'll just have to wait and see though.

I really have no idea. Honestly, there is only one TE that matters on the Redskins, and his name is Cooley.

This is true but we have to have a blocking TE because we have to get Cooley more involved in the intermediate passing game since we do not have a receiver to fill that bill.

Yoder seems to be doing fine with that. And I'm sure there are about 100 other guys who could do pretty much the same.

I am not opposed to Yoder but I think that survey was about the 3rd tight end and if Yoder was all that, when we needed a blocking TE, we would not have had to go to Pucillo (who did a wonderful job) as much as we did.

I'm thinking we probably focus on another blocking TE to compliment Yoder and Edwards is a big lad with a little NFL experience.......who knows

i loved this last year. true gibbs form of adapting to his roster. i would expect this to happen some this year as well, but we do need a TE who can do a decent enough job so the entire D isnt in the box when pucillo is in.

furia was supposed to be that last year but he actually blocked poorly IMO.

everything that guy did was horrible.

I chose ecker, what I saw from him looked decent and that's probably good enough to be a 3rd string TE... he's just gonnna be on special teams and MAYBE goal line situations (I kinda hope not) right? He probably won't have that huge of an impact on the team so I say go young and have the staff mold him into what they want him to be.

Our TE depth is terrible. If Cooley gets injured and misses time, we are screwed. The best thing would be to move Sellers to that spot, if that were to happen but then we have no FB. But that is what I would do, since the FB position is less important.

I chose Edwards just because he has some experience and size, with Ecker going to the practice squad

I really don't care who makes it, but I hope whoever that person is makes the team not just b/c they were the lesser of three evils.

I thought the same thing.........But as long as Cooley gets into his game, and we have semi-decent blocking TE i don't care who gets the final spot.........

Buck Ortega!

I'm sorry but that sounds like a name for some southwestern beef jerky or BBQ sauce.

Eric Edwards is good tight end, but I bet Ecker gets it on size alone.

I know we all love the skins, and feel/hope they are going to be unstoppable in the 07 season. However, the question is are all the right pieces in place? Have we started a team that we can build on? Is our D going to bust again next season? Will CP be back to '05 form, or will he become an injury plagued back?... These are many question running around this forum, IMO we have started a team that we can build on to have a promising future, I think Portis will return to '05 and that Betts will only help his numbers. It sounds like Campbell has really progressed this offseason working on his timing with the receivers, pretty much I am totally confident in our offense and waiting for it to explode. I do have a great fear about next season though, and that is will we be able to pressure the qb? That was our biggest problem last season and no matter what db's we had they would have gotten schooled, and for some reason this offseason we didn't really make any moves to add players that could help generate pressure on the qb. The only real change was that now Washington might be playing DE on passing downs in order to get more pressure on the qb, it will be interersting to see how that pans out. If Washington can step it up like he always has, he might be able to add the speed we need on the corner to get pressure to the qb, but it will also depend heavily on Carter and if he can continue to progress as he did at the end of last season. If this happens I am hoping that my ONLY fear of next season (other than injury obviously), will be prevented and we will sacking qb's over and over again. The season is entirely to far away, Lets go SKINS.
