Glad to see Blades sign up. I've always been impressed with his level of play at Pitt, and plus the dude was one of the coolest names in football. (Move over, Rock Cartwright!) Get this guy a uniform as well as a cell that speed-dials to London Fletcher. Let the mentoring start ASAP...

Sartz and Palmer? Eh...I'll reserve judgement at a later date. ;)

i've been looking for this release for the last week, so i'm glad we're finally done with these guys. now... on to getting landry's contract done.

hollenbach released too. it's going to be interesting to see how bramlet fits into this team. he impressed me in NFLE, but we have to remind ourselves that NFLE is not the NFL. i would be surprised to see bramlet let go instead of palmer though.

Lets hope that this means that all 3 showed something in the previous workouts to warrent contracts. I dont want to reach for my B&G spectacles just yet, but i was impressed with Blades in college. Go Skins !!!!

Wake me up when Landry gets signed...Seriously I'm glad these guys are signed. Hopefully Blades and Sartz can have an impact on special teams this year.

any chance the FO trying to get a contract for JC soon, since all contracts just keep going up and up?

And Cooley... Please don't drop the ball on this FO!We definitely need to get Landry done soon and I'm confident they will but getting Cooley a nice extension should be a priority also. Would love to see both befor camp starts (fingers crossed.)

Its scary to think what a top player will be getting in 10 years. Might just have to dust off the old cleats, unhook from the dialysis machine and give it a whirl. Go Skins !!!!

I think he needs to complete an entire season at the least before we worry about that. I have never heard of a player getting a new deal after playing in 7 games. Did Romo get a new deal already?

If we make a playoff run this year, JC will be a top priority at season's end.

show me for more than one season, especially at QB. i agree with rich tho, 7 games is no true guage of an NFL QB. Jason Campbell has showed he has the tools to succeed, but has proven nothing. Having the tools and maximizing your potential are two different things. and also like Rich said the cowboys didnt rush into a deal with romo yet either, the problem they have is romos going into a contract season, campbell is not. How Romo plays this year will and the rising cap and costs of certain positions will determine how much romo gets after this year, its possible he could get a matt schaub(whos proven nothing) type deal tho.

JC proves that he is a starter and a good starter at that then he gets his deal. It won't be as much as a Mannings or other top tier QB, but then he would have only proved himself for a year.

I think thats the best way to go for JC.... I would like to have cooley done by TC, but i don't think it will be done until the season starts or has just finished.

Finally, landry. Isn't there some sort of rookie pool of money or something. So once we have all are our rookies signed, that will tell us how much landry will get this year? i guess the hold up is, as it always is, is length, bonus, and other year salary's and bonus.

But hey, these guys signed means that this first year is pretty much locked up

It's going to take a few more signings closer to his spot before the negotiations truly begin. Picks 4 and (8-10) will be the basis to begin with.

No one in Wash should lose any sleep over getting J Campbell re-signed to a long-term deal unless the Skins get themselves into a bind where they have no cap room.

Successful QBs don't tend to leave. Except for Drew Brees, who is the last big time QB to leave his team thru free agency? And, in that case, DB left only because the Chargers had committed big money to a younger QB Rivers.

Once a QB has firmly established himself on a team, he knows that's his team and he knows the team will do whatever is necessary to re-sign him. If he moves onto another team, his future becomes less certain.

Although, I imagine it can happen that a good QB may wish to leave a bad team regardless of money and security. Hopefully, the Skins would never become that dreadful where Jason would want to leave.

:blah: Oh well - chances were pretty slim anyway. So it's going to be Palmer to the PS.

About the signings - Good thing but did we expect anything different. AND like usual - the #1 won't be signed until next weekend (at best).

we fumbled keeping both trent green and brad johnson (for different reasons) so nothing is impossible
