Both predicted Skins to win... Even though neither spoke highly of the redskins....

I wonder if that means they think less of the Jets or the home field advantage we have?
they cant show Vinny ne love...so they have to pick skins

Alot of people are going to be surprised at how good the Jets are even w/ the defections and the injuries. It doesn't mean you guys can't win but every "expert" has left the jets for dead. You would think they would learn as they have done it so many times in recent memory and we have responded to shock them every time.

They did give Coles some love when I saw them saying they thought he would do very well in this offense could very possibly catch 90+ balls and said that Spurrier should pick it up because he has the personnel to run his offense.

There are 2 things you can count on in the AFC East:
1. the Mullets (Dolphins) to start fast and melt down in the Dec
2. and the Jets start slow and finish strong.
A friend on mine's brother in-law makes a fortune every betting these 2 teams with this in mind.

Maybe the Dolphins will start slow and finish strong, but I seem to remember the Jets losing by a combined score somewhere in the neighborhood of 110-10 in the 4 games they lost with Vinny at the helm LAST YEAR. The only reason they won the first game of the season was because of excellent kickoff returns by CHAD MORTON. Why anyone would think the Jets could have a good season is beyond me.

I like the Pats and Bills in the AFC East. Ricky is due for an injury and the Jets are depleted.
I take no stock in expert predictions, good or bad. Salisbury annoys the heck out of me. He has this brash act that has been developed over the last year or two that is almost inhuman. Not a fan. Anyway, I have almost no idea what to expect and consider myself more educated on the Skins than Salisbury or whomever.

I don't know how anyone can really think the Jets will be that bad. I love the additions from the Jets, but look at it like this:
Coles- they have Moss to try to replace him. A former #1 pick... he might not be the player that Coles is, but he has the potential to be.
Hall- Kickers are replacable. I think Hall will be better for us than he was with them. They aren't going to miss much.
Morton- Moss is an unbelievable returner... he seems better than morton to me.
Thomas- the hardest to replace, but it's a guard position and i think they were grooming someone anyway.
Their defense was in shambles for the beginning of the season. But they got a lot better. Remember how they killed the Colts? That was good defense. The only changes from that unit is a better DT (robertson) and McGraw is entrenched a starter (upgrade).
I'm worried about how we are going to score and containing Santana Moss on special teams and as a WR. Call me paranoid... but this game SEEMS much harder than the vibe I get around here.

I'm suprised Salsbury steak gave us any love seeing as the other night he was stated we did'nt even have a 'shot' at the playoffs and the girls would have as good a record at 8-8.And i still feel like the Jet's have a good teamJust not sure if the guy they pulled at QB(Vinny)last year in an effort to turn it around, is going to do any better this year. That O really struggled with Vinny at the helm.

The Jets are a good team, there can be no doubts about that. They embarrassed the Colts last year in the PO's, a place we have only been once in the last 10 years.
Will the Jet passing game be as good as it was last year, probably not. A lot of production was lost with Coles and if Conway was as good as Coles, he would have at least 1 year in his career with numbers like Coles, but he doesn't. The player who has to step up without a doubt is Moss. He is the player I believe Champ will be on all night. I honestly think the X factor in this game will be Becht. Can our LB's and Bowen neutralize him? That's the question.
I expect a good game, a close game. I can't recall when a playoff team and a non playoff team from the previous year were so close in terms of talent in a season opener. This game could literally go either way and may very well come down to a lucky break, a bad call or who's hot at the end.

Im not sure what to expect... it seems een the most mediocre offenses have good games when playing us. I wont put it past Vinny to do a solid job... and Curtis Martin still has a step... the question is, can our Defense step up.
It isnt us winning that will be the test... but HOW we win... how much improvement will we see?
