Burgled would be the correct term. See kids a criminal justice degree actually teaches you something!

I hope his Super Bowl ring is safe.

His Super Bowl ring wasn't stolen, it was a replica pendant of the ring that Byner had made for his wife that is missing. A neighborhood kid who was supposed to be watching the house did it. He has already returned some of the stolen items but some expensive jewelry is still missing.

Frequently, these kids sell the stuff as quickly as possible.

And here I was going to blame Mike Irvin looking to pawn some bling for his next hit. Since ESPN fired him, he must be behind. A cowgirl must be behind it somewhere.

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - An 18-year-old man has been charged in the theft of a replica of a Super Bowl ring and other items from Redskins assistant coach Earnest Byner, a Virginia resident.

Investigators believe a teenager who was watching Byner's home while the family was on vacation let Shamsud-Din Tariq Akbar and a 17-year-old juvenile into the home, where they took jewelry and other valuables, including a pendant that was a replica of the Super Bowl ring.

Some of the stolen items were returned to Byner, but the ring and some other items weren't.

Akbar is charged with burglary and grand larceny. He's being held on $5,000 bond. Police are still looking for the 17-year-old, who's facing the same charges.

Byner was a running back for the Redskins when they beat the Buffalo Bills 37 to 24 in the 1992 Super Bowl.

Looks like 1 of the 2 have already been caught. They are still looking for the other one.
