i'm killing time waiting for the game tomorrow. I'm sad to admit that my animosity towards the Jets has increased 10 fold in the last few hours. I've been playing NFL 2K3 for like 2 days now with just the Skins vs the Jets. Little things, like keeping your yards per carry over 10 and a perfect QB rating is sometimes soiled by the likes of Jon McGraw and John Abraham.

No matter, each game is about 70-10... so i hope that bodes well for us today. TODAY!!! I can't believe the time is here. I know my outside of DC people share my excitement in FINALLY getting to see the team this season.

The 2K3 bashing was getting boring, so i picked up Espn football (2K4 essentially).

The game is AMAZING!! I love it!! I've been a huge sega sports fan, but my interest has been starting to wain and i almost switched it up to Madden. I rented Madden and liked it, but i had to buy ESPN. (besides, those tracy morgan commercials are awesome)

here are the points about the new game...

- no more getting caught by Big Daddy as you are running in a 70 yarder with Koren Robinson!! This is huge, my biggest gripe against the old game. Speed kills, but it's not as easy as Madden in just holding the button.

- better graphics (than last year AND than madden

- better animations, they finally changed the celebrations! about time.. there are cheerleaders, fans with home team gear, players talking on the sidelines... the whole works... widescreen replays and different angles... better presentation all around.

- Commentary is a little better... i'm already getting sick of after every kick return hearing the same thing.

- A true ESPN feel. Music, berman, ect...

- unlockables... the crib is dope... you can hook up all this tight stuff for your pad. It's pretty fun. Works like maddens things where you get points for a big play or what not.

- You can get pressure on the QB... last year sucked at that

So what's wrong with it??? well... i've had it for 5 hrs now... and i've shattered all kinds of records. I'm only on Pro... but my pass defense isn't that good yet and i'm beating people by 70. So i'm not sure how the AI is. Running has been a little too easy (alexander 300yrds in first game on 20 carries). Passing is tough, but improved.

I love it... i'd say that this is the best football game i've played... and i've played a ton. If you like the sega sports deal, you'll love this. I was a little wary of some neg reviews, but it's money.

(this is the PS2 version BTW)

oh... and what else is sick.. for the xbox there is a nice little feature. You earn music and CD's by unlocking things. You have this jukebox and you can play songs that you ripped onto your xbox... so that stuff will play during menu's and stuff. Not sure if it'll do it during games, but it's a nice touch.
